kesler can't be traded this year. when a player has that shit that happened to kesler, you have to keep him for that contract year. so we're fucked no matter what.
i've always said he's a glorified 3rd liner. so this isn't a shock, i'm expecting him to have maybe 25-30pts this year. i will say it sure ain't his fault clarke made the offer, but he'll take a lot of shit this year for it. /cheering for a kesler career ender. then we get him off the salary this year and maybe actually pick some one up. especially considering that 1.9 pays a shitload of salary if we just need to pick someone up for 2 months. :D |

Nonis also did not have to match, but that comes with the extreme faith they put in a kessler.

Unless the guy starts to produce, it makes no sense for us to be wanting him injured so as to end his career....a groin sprain would be nice though. Hmmm...send Kelser down to the farm in return for someone who is actually producing in an idea, and at least Kesler will have Wade Flaherty to talk to as well hahah.

They were over the cap limit but because the NHL considers mogilny's injury severe. They don't h ave to cover h is salary hence devils were able to sign more players. If Kessler were to seriously get injured and deemed season ending injuries or along those lines we could take off his 1.9 million salary off our cap limit I believe anyways. |

You can't hold Kessler to $1.9 million standards. He's an $800,000 player. The only reason that he's making the money that he is now is because Nonis took too long to sign him. I think that he'll be worth the cash in a couple of years and we just have to eat it now due to some poor GM'ing on Nonis' part.

i can see 1.3 million worth in a maybe a few years. A BIG MAYBE!!
but 1.9 is pretty much the same as 2 million. i would have just let Clarke get him. Even if he turns into a decent better scorer. Just means his salary will not go up even more. If nonis is smart though and that time comes he should just not re sign him and let kessler walk this time cause w all know kessler will go to arbritation to try and get like his 3 million+ salary that he will want since he started at 1.9 million. Comes down to this for me. I wanted Nonis to dump Kessler *a prospect still thats unproven and doesn't seem to be going anywhere other than he's a good skater* to philly and bobby clarke. We could have signed a decent forward *prob not carter cause he was almost gone for sure* but we could have brought some balance to our lines. dude look at the balance we got. sedins +naslund THATS IT. Top 6 forwards don't exist for us lol Last edited by KenJi; Oct 17, 06 at 06:00 PM. |

I only like Kesler because he punched Iginla in the face a few times.
Other than that he's a rookie that needs 2 to 3 years before he's anything. We'll never know just what made the nux give this kid 2 mill. Maybe his sister is a trampy lil ho. :285: |

Meh, they're both dicks. It ws nice to see Nonis say "Bob Clarke would push his mother down the stairs if he thought it would help him win" in the media, though.

let's see, he had to work deals for the twins, create the luongo/bert deal, try to get carter back, signed mitchell. that's top 2 forwards, top 1 but his priority according to you should have been a 3rd line player. please explain to me how a manager(clarke) raising salaries across the board for players who DO NOT deserve that sort of raise is smart managment? that shit has a trickle down effect to every team. because in the real world, it's called poor management, exactly the opposite of what you're talking about. |
