Fried Bananas

My chef just brought me a fried banana and ice cream.


I think i just came.


anyone else love this colonial treat?

^ Hahaha, I regret nothing! I love deep fried bananas. I wish I had a deep fryer so I could deep fry everything. Think about it, tempura earrings = so hot.

in my experience Bannana leaf on denman has the best in town (it's all the crack they put in the batter.) most malyasian, or thai restaurants will feature this on their menu.

Thats my favorite! first time i've ever tried it was in mexico mmm delicious* Theres a Japanese restuarant on robson righth besdie chapters that sells this dessert but i havent tried it from there.

my dad always made fried bananas with sugar.
quarter the banana and heat butter in a frying pan and sprinkle a light amount of sugar on each side of the banana. it makes a carmalized coating if you do it right.
oh man, the most amazing unhealthy breakfast ever!

beleive it or not, you can fry bananas in the comfort of your own kitchen!

you need:

1 frying pan
2 bananas (theyre better when theyre a little brown)
1 tbsp butter
4 scoops of vanilla ice cream

you figure the rest out.

I do these the same way on my Bar BQ in the summer time :) Only run a whole vanilla stock throught the center of the Banana... SHAZZAM!

yesss! deep fried bananas or deep fried plaintains with a bit of brown sugar and cream cheese! The best I had was in Antigua Guatemala!

My friend and I started talking about deep fried bananas the other day and convinced each other to head down to Banana Leaf for the sole purpose of getting it. SO GOOD.
