omg wine
Australia turned me into a real wine lover. My recommentaions: sparkling: Summerhill Cipes Brut (organic grapes, no artificial preservatives!!! this is the no-headache champagne!!!!!) plus it's grown in BC and aged in a freaking geometrically perfect sacred pyramid. www.summerhill.bc.ca white: Devil's Lair 5th Leg ... I haven't been able to find this in Canada yet but zomg! www.devils-lair.com red: I've been enjoying Yellowtail shiraz and cab sauv for a few years (the merlot and chardonnay make me want to barf though) also a big fan of the south african Goats Do Roam (yes a joke on Cotes du Rome) http://www.wine.com/wineshop/product...EPCGDRRED_2005 I could go on more....love wine! maybe I'll post more later. |

i love the reds! i think i drink more wine then beer nowadays which hopefully will bring down the beer ponch.
bc has some wicked wines but they're pricey. luckily i've got the okanagan hook up for discounts at one of the top wineries in bc. it was rad, i got to take a behind the scenes tour in the kitchen and such. last month the liquor store released the 2003 bordeaux collection, we waited in line from 6am to spend $800. it was crazy, bottles went for close too $2000 (rothschild) each. non of the bottles ripen till about 2010 which is probably a good thing, i can't wait too decork. spanish wines are probably the best bang for your buck. i think the one we've been rocking is los rocas, 89 points and only $16. |

Reading wine and food magazines, and sites like http://www.gismondionwine.com/ are great. I believe there is even a search engine on this site where you can look up a wine and it will give you the rundown on ratings, boquet, palate etc.
cheers! |
