Fitzpatrick out 4-6 weeks

VANCOUVER (AP) - Vancouver Canucks defenceman Rory Fitzpatrick will miss the next four to six weeks because of a hairline fracture in his left foot.
Sami Salo (knee sprain) and Willie Mitchell (post-concussion symptoms) also are sidelined, leaving Vancouver with a young, inexperienced defence corps.
Nathan McIver, 21, was recalled for Manitoba of the American Hockey League and will join Patrick Coloumbe, another 21-year-old who was called up Wednesday, in playing his first NHL game. Alexander Edler, 20, will be playing his third.

Pointswise, but Buffalo has two games in hand and would be one point ahead if they win those two games.

I am not a bandwagon jumped but honest assessment. I don't like Filet Mignon's coaching strategies much. I think Bulis is the biggest waste of space, and yet gets enourmous respect from the foremention Mignon. Most likely cause they were on the same team before.

Seriously if a guy played this poorly crow would have at least sat him for an entire period or game.

Also we got an enourmous hole on defence. we need salo back for sure. ohlund can't play well anymore by himself. Its too much work back there.

Our forwards we just don't have nearly the depth that alot of teams have. We've definetly fallen way behind in terms of offence than the last 5r or 6 seasons.

Overall I'm not liking the Canucks chances of making the playoff's as much as I had earlier on. They need to really get their gears going.

Really though this was Anaheim who still havn't lost in regulation....

lookin @ the teams that are borderline playoff right now, I sorta still like the canucks chances but its hard to say. they can def make the playoffs if they are healthy and get a bit of secondary scoring, but at the moment things are kinda rough. keep in mind we aren't even a 1/4 into the season!

it sucks, if we could have a well rounded schedule playin a lot more east teams, our situation would be way different.

I think if we crack into the playoffs, we have the type of team that could really surprise people. then again, beating ANA etc in a series = almost impossible for us.
