Shooting @ Au Bar Saturday night 2am?

Anyone know what happend at au bar last night around 2am? I was waiting for the bus around 2 - 2:30am and there were like a dozen police cars. People walking away from au bar said there was a shooting.

Can anyone clarify what happend.

I don't know about au bar but K.George skytrain stn. was surrounded and blocked off by cops @ around midnight.

^yesterday was crazy for cops everywhere. I saw several cars with lights flashing near the patullo bridge, and two seperate crime scenes swarming with cops along kingsway in burnaby.

i was workin - No shooting-- cops all over downtown.. there was a chick fight inside the club at 230 ... cops were already inside just scopin out like usual .. soon as they saw the fight start I was told to shut music off .. night was over @ 240am

nothing close to a shooting tho -- dont know where u got that from.

Sonar was closed at 210am for a similar reason..

Anytime theres cops in a club and they see anything close to a fight .. u can kiss the rest of night good byE.

Not true, we've had incidents in the past where cops have been inside and a fight has broken out. The police helped our doorstaff restrain and control the situation. Not once have we been asked to turn off the music and put an end to the night.

Ultimately it comes down to the relationship the club has with the police department and how the door staff work with the officers.

the whole thing in surrey @ king george stn was a hostage situation, some guy went into the hotel that's close to the stn and told the bartender that he had a bomb and took him hostage, it was on cknw.

one time we were extremely over capacity, no counter and the firemarshall with his gang of old fatties came in to check everything out. We were very nice to them and they let us off with a warning.

Im sure Plaza has a much better past relationship w/ Gang Squad then Aubar does..

but also factor in the fight happened at 235am .. 20 mins from closing. To be more clear of the matter .. a patron was asked to show his identification .. when he replied by spitting on the cops shoe .. All hell broke loose.

The rest of the cops rushed him, threw him on a table , which broke .. This caused his girlfriends friends (all females) to jump in ..

There was no way any club wouldve stayed open for their last 20 mins after that.
