Being gassed to sleep?

it's OK. i'd rather be gassed to sleep and let the procedure be done rather than sit there for hours and hours. there's no need to feel uncomfortable.

unless you're a chick and your doctor has a history of molesting patients that have gone under.

When I was gassed before an operation I woke up really disoriantated (sp?) and fell in and out of conciousness for a day and was throwing up for like 2 days. It did NOT work well with my body at all.

But when I was put under with a needle it was ok.. I was out in a flash and just a little confused when I woke up.

Being put under in any circumstance is really scary, what are you getting done ?

Yours was worse, thats my biggest fear, to be molested while put under !!!

I had it done once. I was fairly groggy after I woke up for a couple hours. It depends on the person with how adverse of a reaction you'll have.

getting a needle > being gassed

i've gotten the needle when i was younger and woke up without any confusion or problems

i've been gassed and woke up fine, but i felt funny for the rest of the day

the only part that really sucks is the fact that you cant control it taking over you..you try to keep your eyes open and it doesnt work..obviously..haha and then your magically asleep!

I've been gassed before when i crushed my wrist when i was younger.

I felt so messed up when I woke up but the gassing itself was quick and you don't remember much. Prob helps if you have a nice doctor rather than a creepy one when your being gassed.

Ive been gassed so many times for a plethora of reasons. The last time was on account of my widom teeth. I woke up half way through, as he was ripping my teeth out of my skull. The pulling of the teeth didn't hurt at all just a weird popping noise. I was almost crying because I felt ripped off and I just didnt want to witness some guy ripping my teeth out.

The first Time I was gassed at surrey memorial hospital was because of a broken arm, and when I came to I was naked from the waist down and 3 nurses were staring at me with a kid in the room.

Oh 1 more thing. if you're given a paralytic you could wake up during the operation in excruciating agony and be unable to do anything about it. good luck with your surgury, pal. cheers

Yep that was why I was in the hospital. I fell from a huge tree and crushed my wrist all over. Had to get surgery and well I'm pretty sure its not following procedure to keep the patient awake well the surgeon is operating on the wrist.

Gotta love the hospital wear eh. Especially the ones that only really cover the front lol.
