And yes, he can bang it out with chuck - he did it the last time and got the better of it. Rampage is not tito, babalu, or couture - he's actually got some real boxing/standup skills and the one thing he's got is great defence. His biggest weakness is the clinch which Chuck isn't exactly known for. Chuck hasn't improved *that* much since his fight with page. The biggest improvement since that fight is probably his confidence.
those would be the top notch guys i was talking about.

And run my mouth I train for mma everyday and fight in mma events fuck head, im pretty sure anything I say is valid.

let me quess though your some mma couch potatoe fan who lost money on chuck last PPV?

rampage isnt in the ufc cause hes easily skilled enough hes in it cause dana white sees huge PPV numbers for chuck fighting him. If he hadnt beat chuck years ago rampage would still be fighting in that sub par mma organization he was just in.

Great, you train MMA - making statements like this still makes you ignorant. Just cause you can execute and armbar doesn't make your opinion anymore valid regarding the history of the sport. Basically I called you on a major bullshit statement you made and the only thing you have to say is "I train, you must be an armchair mma fan." Great persuasive abilities man.

Keep that shit on Sherdog and try to have a decent conversation about this.

And for the record, I picked liddel to beat ortiz, I've been a fan for the last 7 years, and do a bit of BJJ training myself.

Dude, Rampage beat Linland, Ninja, Bustamante, Liddel, Arona, Randleman (back before he was a joke), and Vonchanchyan - these guys were/are great fighters - I think hes more than proved his ability as a top-level fighter. Just because you say someone sucks doesn't mean he does and his record legitimizes his ability way more than your message board rantings do.

For sure his confidence and aggression hasn't been the same since he got knocked the fuck out by Silva, but since their 2nd fight, he's only lost to Shogun - who most considered the best at 205 in the year 2005.

I'm not saying Rampage will beat chuck, but he definitley has all the tools to beat Liddel as proven in their last fight (even if it was 3 years ago). Chuck has some weaknesses in his game that just haven't been exploited since all he's faced are grappler-centric fighters for the last 3 years. Not saying he's not great or even one of the best, but again: styles make fights - and Page has one of the best styles to beat Chuck (save for maybe Crocop).

Randleman (back before he was a joke)

hahaha so funny i was totally thinking oh great another sherdog know it all. but at least we both agree sherdog is for douche bags.

I like rampage his fights are always a good watch.

but him and randleman are holding hands in the (back before we were jokes) bracket.

only 2 guys that can fight at 205 that have a legit chance of beating chuck are silva and cro cop.

and silva wont be able to do it cause he has no chin(just like tito)

cro cop is the only fighter i would choose over chuck in a fight.

See I disagree - I think if we see the Rampage that we saw in 2003, he can still beat this new and improved 2007 Chuck. But if we see the Rampage that we've seen the last couple years (i.e. the born-again christian Rampage) then Chuck has a much better chance of winning. Page is still young and contrary to a lot of people's thoughts I don't think he's really peaked yet - he's just lost some of the motivation to win. Whether he gets back to his old ways or he turns into another vitor belfort... well, I guess we'll find out soon. Page has stated he wants 2 warm-up fights before Chuck so we'll see which Rampage shows up to the UFC

The Rampage that ran roughshod through the Pride MW division, beat Chuck, and took Silva to 2 amazing fights was far hungrier and motivated and if he can get his motivation back I think he's more than a match for Chuck.

Anyway, he defintiely looked better vs. Linland than he did in his last couple Pride matches.

Silva/Chuck is 50/50 - i wouldn't put money on either.

Crocop/Chuck is interesting - I think cop would outclass chuck on his feet, but at the same time, both being counter-punchers, it could get a little too tentative.

crocop weighed in at like 215 in the OWGP - he could probably cut to 205 no problem. Hell, he's probably lighter than Chuck... I Chuck probably cuts to 205 from 220 or something and gains at least 10 lbs back day of the fight.

Kinda makes Mirko that much more amazing that he's taking out all these guys who probably have a significant weight advantage on him (OWGP not withstanding).

man, say whatever you want about his skills, but the man can cut a promo like no one in the businiess.

If he can put together a string of victories, he's going to be huge in the UFC based on charisma alone:

That was a fantastic interview.

I lost it when he was talking about the Tito Bobblehead.
