Dead Peoples Stuff..

In the last 3 weeks I have been sorting through boxes and boxes of my boyfriends brother (who passed away in the summer) and Mother's (not dead..just moved into a care home) stuff and it blows my mind what you find.

Some random creepy things I've found so far in his brothers stuff

-many many womans panties. All sizes..
-over a HUNDRED naked pictures of random woman dated from the early 80's -current.
-Love letters from woman all over the world.
-Over a thousand zip-lock baggies (Im not even joking..its unreal)
-Jars of change (would it be weird to cash that shit in and get a new purse?)
-Catelogs (Over 200..from every store around)
-Shoe boxes of pencils (all sharpened!)
-Tapes (Seriously theres so many homemade tapes and movies..Definately dont want to know whats on them)
-Probably 40-50 packages of white ikea curtains

And mannnny more. I never met him so its really strange to be going through all of his stuff..

Going through his mothers stuff is not as strange but its like im sorting through her life. I swear she never threw anything out.

=D

my grandmother is weird like that, growing up in American during the depression and all. She kept aluminum foil from picnic's in the 50's, magazines, napkins, plastic forks, spools and even toe nail clippings.

some people just can't throw things away.

The other day I wore this scarf that was once my gradmas for the first time. I was in my friends car and there was this hair in my mouth. When I pulled it out I realized it was my grandmas hair which really freaked me out! This is kinda gross but I have a robe of hers as well and I refuse to throw out the kleenex that is in the pocket.

I had some sweaters of my Grandma's that I didn't wash for years (didn't wear them that often ok?!) because they smelled like her. Finally had to, though, kinda sad. :(

:( I still have a couple boxes of my Dad's stuff
it's been almost seven years but I can't bring myself to even go through it, let alone get rid of any of it
I will probably keep most of it forever, which is kind of weird, but I don't think that I could ever part with it.
Every now and then I look for stuff in my storage room and come across his boxes, one with his winter jacket that he always wore to my brother's hockey games... *sigh*

luckily i haven't had to go through any recently deceased persons belongings.
i can see how it would be revealing.
are the ikea curtains still in the package?

has anyone here seen the movie "a beautiful mind"? for some reason the first post reminds me of the main character in that movie.

The ikea curtains were all packaged..but I also found 12 white curtains not packaged.

when my uncle passed away a few years back it took days if not weeks to clean out all his stuff...he kept EVERYTHING, like we're talking snickers bar wrappers and receipts from 1987..every issue of the globe and mail for maybe like 20 years, shit was crazy.

When my Mom's Dad died, we took a look through the Estate and he had tons of firearms. We had them all sold off... kind of annoying as I wanted a couple of them for myself.

I've seen the movie.

His stuff was exactly how he left it. Im starting to think he was going to build a treefort in the back yard with pencils!!

The packages of curtains were sealed. No toga parties..

tango is on a distinguished road
when my cousin passed away of lukemia this summer we had to go thru his stuff and he kept EVERY ticket stub from EVERY show/movie/hockeygame that he ever went to... there were shoe boxes of them!

we also found a bucket of smurf miniatures and the star wars episodes 4-6 on tape with the read along books... i'm sure those are worth some $!

he's missed :(
