Naked Grapes

Not the poster, but the wine. I'm more inclined to Pinot Noir, but I found this Pinot Blanc to be delicious. It's unoaked.. I'm wondering if this is what makes it appealing to me over other white wines.

Give it a shot, I went and picked up another bottle of it today.

I bought Road 13's Red this week. Burger wine! I'm saving my jackson-triggs grand reserve for the holidays though, and i'm going to score some burrowing owl off my parents who buy it buy the case lol.

My grandma loves Burrowing Owl.. my mom is a big fan of Painted Turtle, but I'm not a huge Sav. Blanc fan. I'm thinking about uncorking a bottle of N K MIP (Inkameep) Cellars.. it's another Pinot Blanc, but I don't know if I should drink it chilled or warm.. I'm still fairly new to wine.

white wine should always be chilled, usually if you consult the website of the vineyard they'll tell you. I like reds so I don't have to bother chilling mine. Painted turtle tastes cheap to me..like yellow tail quality :-\

Mission Hill is a good 'standard', I just try and stay with VQAs regardless.

and i forget what in'kmeep (sp? there's an apostrophe in there somewhere) i've had, but i liked one and didn't like the other.

PM Puddle<3 on these forums, she knows her wines very well.

She's not a connesieur.. she just finds Painted Turtle is 'balanced right'.. whatever that means. I dislike yellow tail too.

I'll put the bottle on ice right now.



Any suggestions on reading material? I'd like to develop a palette, but I know I'll need to learn more about wine making before I can do that.

Don't put it on ice just stick it in the fridge until you're ready to drink it. Reading material...ehh....I know what I like just from experience, like i say Jodie (Puddle<3) is the one who can really benefit this thread I'll make sure she sees it tomorrow.

Much appreciated. Maybe I should just make a Wine 101 thread. As for when I'm ready to drink it... right now seems about right. Fireplace, music, wine.. me by myself... oh god I'm lonely. . . .

My uncle sends my dad a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine from them every year for Christmas.

This is the first time I've had one from golden mile and i like it. The only reason I got it is because the sales lady said it was a burger wine. I got excited at the idea of BURGER WINE (robyn can attest) and got it.

My mom ranted about what wine goes with what kind of food for a good quarter hour last night... but she never mentioned burger wine.

I need to get better at pairing....all I know is something sweet and fruity for spicey dishes, reds go with meats (heavy wine, heavy food), whites with seafood.

I drank ice wine with vanilla ice cream and oreo cookie crumbs last night.. I didn't like the wine until I actually took a bite of the ice cream.. then it was great.

haha nah man, I buy stella usually .. but I used to rep the OE and ghetto beer back in the day.

Im not really a wine connaisseur, so I see no point in payin lots for it. Lots of ppl make their own wine/beer.. nothin really wrong with it, just hella cheap.

painted turtle is super!!!

i like yellow tail and wolf blass....and there was this one we tried the other night, from france........i was the best cab. sov. i've ever tased.........
