i think i cringed a bit, but totally intrigued.

i saw something on animal planet a while back sort of like this. it was about a parasite that infects ants

the parasite brainwashes the ant to hang off the end of a blade of grass and wait there until a rabbit eats it. it then matures in the rabbit and lays eggs, which are then passed through the rabbit when it poops. snails then eat the poo and the parasites. the parasites block the snails 'air hole' and are then 'sneezed' out. the ants eat the 'snot' with the parasites in them

yeah those flies are nasty. there was some show on TLC a while back that showed some guys who went on a trip through the jungle (not sure where). they got stranded, eventually made it out. one of the guys had 4 of those in his leg/foot.

i saw one of those when i was in the amazon, it infected this guy named 'mad' mick of mad mick's bunkhouse and tradeing post. hes very famous in iquiots peru..... anyways, i was staying at his bunkhouse and he got infected with one right on his ass!....you could here him screaming as his wife tried to pull it out and kill it with rubbing alchohol.

sure enough, the thing that was in his ass sent out a breather aparatus out through the skin it could breath, they couldnt sanp it off or eles it would die and get really really bad.

the jungles are filled with all sorts of really strange shit like that.....im amazed have never caught anything like that considering all of the time ive spent down there in the last couple of years......
