This blows (the wind I mean)

Wow, never seen anything like this! Trees down all over the place in the west end?! WTF! Lions gate closed because trees have fallen across the stanley park causeway? 130km winds?

Did anyone actually sleep last night? Because I know I didn't really.

The weather gets crazier and crazier each year... but it's got nothing to do with global warming.. ofcourse..

It was crazy downtown. and noisy - they're building a skyscraper accross the street from me and needles to say, that worksite was a giant mess this morning. I had to listen to shit banging around all night. (Hence the title of the thread :D )

Anyways they were building a cinema over at the shopping mall down the street and they had a whole shit load of styrofoam sheeting on the roof for insulation.... Ya well they forgot to tie those things down... You should of see the sheets flying down the street. My dad grabbed like 12 sheets

FireWire will become famous soon enough
Lions Gate bridge is closed, some more major roads are closed and the traffic to North Van is backed all the way up to New West...

woosh, thankfully I slept through the wind

I think there's only a few times I remember wind this bad, I can think back to a time in the fall of maybe 1992 or 93 when gusts were 100+KM/H and a tree almost fell on me and a friend walking home from school..

I can't begin to imagine how bad it must be for residents of West Vancouver Island or the Queen Charlottes, a storm of this power and an unprotected coast would be scary..just to think that we've got the buffer of Vancouver Island protecting us from the very worst of it.

It's the situation where everything goes bad and you look up at the sky and say, it can't get anyworse. Then it start's raining on you. In our case it'll snow on us.

FNK has sinned - now it's time for repentance... or else - it will snow.

The wind was really scary at my place last night. I woke up at around 3:30am last night to a huge thud, and the whole house shaking, because two trees fell into the side of my house. Luckily they didn't go through the roof.....well yet, they are just resting right now.
:S

Its kinda nuts you guys are having all that insane weather
Im having the kinda weather out here that YOU out in BC should be having....

we havent had any major storm....no major snowfalls...no severely cold temps....It doesnt feel like fuckin winter!!!

Meanwhile you guys got this huge snow dump , a bad storm , and all these other crazy natural disasters of some form.

Thats gotta suck..

However they say in 20 years the seasons are supposed to reverse themselves...(Winter becomes Summer...etc..)

The wind was absolutely nuts in Vic last night.. I seriously almost got blown away (walking in harsh winds while drunk can be dangerous, lol).
