Custom Kicks for Christmas! (pics)

Hey all - thought I'd get some feedback on this pair of kicks I've been working on for my brother's christmas gift:

Stuffed Tongues, Velvet Paisley Print, some color change, Tags removed&replaced & some fat brown laces to top it off!

What do you guys think?

aww. . two paisley haters. It's not for everyone.

Better before though? ouch. Anyone can have a pair of those, and not the nicest white sneak choice at that.

Thanks for the comments so far though - the velvet & fat laces make 'em look even more soft&stylish in person.

props for trying to be original and for creating a unique pair of kicks.

the brown velvet isn't my bag of sticky but that's just my opinion.

must admit it's a pretty clean job though.




ps. keep the fat laces on the adidas. they don't work on the nike's.

That's cool - I don't expect everyone to LOVE the paisley ish. It did take a long time to make it a clean job though, and I think that's what really makes it or breaks it.

Maybe I'll try a regular set of brown laces in there just to see - but I think the fats keep with the soft theme of the velvet here.

I think it's neat to have your own customized nikes, paisley is not for everyone, but any avid shoe collector is stoked on owning something that is truly one of a kind and even if you don't like the design, it's really well done- they look really nice and clean.

which brown? The check vs. the brown on the paisley looks a lot closer(lighter) in person - but if I took the pic with a flash, it would wash out the white.

I could find laces a bit darker for sure - or I've thought, perhaps I should have chosen the lace first, then make sure I plan to use that color..

feeling the paisley, a bit rough around the edges where you made the cuts, still better than i'm sure most would do. i'd rock them.
