it all varies between 68-76%, its the ingredients used in them.
The country made stuff of course is gonna give you thouse HARD hitting experiences, but you cant bring homemade alcohol over the border (well overseas anyways)
I had a choice of two different types in London; Parisian (68%) and Bohemian (70%), both made of the original ingredients that give the Absinthe...the Absinthe effects. Im sure the American version has those ingredients but in less quanitity, mainly due to abiding the alcohol laws.
Bohemian is the original one, that has the taste that the Czech had to ration during the 50's, but I got the Parisian bottle instead. Which is based on the original 19 century recipies... Tastes like a very bitter, limey liquorice, excellent if served right!
edit:
an interesting fact i found on the companys absinthe website...
the very fitst cocktail was invented in New Orleans in the French Quarter...
Some say that the Sazerac is the first cocktail; it's certainly the first New Orleans cocktail; acknowledged by many as the home of the cocktail. New Orleans — being closely tied with France — was absinthe's home in the US.
1 sugar cube or 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar
3 dashes Peychaud's bitters
60ml cognac
Splash of La Fée Parisian Absinthe 68%
Strip of lemon peel
