The worst Christmas ever
So I spent the past week in the hospital. I went in there last week with a severe pain in my stomach, thinking my apendix had burst. After waiting in agony for 5 hours I get a bed in the emergency room, to be poked like a human pin cushion and pumped full of morphine. They wouldnt let me eat or drink water for 4 days and then found out that I had Pancreatitis. I had brain surgery almost 2 years ago, and this was more pain then I have ever felt in my life. So for the whole week I laid in bed in pain and all doped up on morphine, yep... deffinetly the worst christmas ever.To top it all off.. I will never EVER in my life be able to take a sip of alcohol again ...
For those of you who know me, I have a new cell number.. pm me if you would like it ... and pm me your number since I lost mine last month. |

It's hard stuff to hear sometimes, but again it makes it easier to hear crappy stuff the next time that life knocks on your front door

but ya kelly what ever you do.... DO NOT DRINK ANY ALCOHOL. Not even a sip... My uncle died from the same thing you had but the reason why he died is that he kept on drinking when he shouldn't of.
My dad right now is still in the hospital since I had to take him on christmas during the evening... looks like the same shit that is going down like what happened in september |

Yeah.. its so fucking crazy... I really have the worst luck when it comes to booze, its probably a sign. I have been in the hospital 2 times for serious things that had to do with booze.
But matty and kenji, car is back on the road on friday !!! I will be out there all the time boys :) cant wait to see you ! |

Drinking is kind of overrated anyways!
I don't know you but I was in xmas over the holidays once and I was suuuper bummed out about it so I can understand. At least everything is all better now and it's going to be the start of a healthier you! Save all the money you'd normally spend drinking and treat yourself to something :) |

haha thanks jeff that was a really good site.. I have been lookin for as much info as possible.
Alcohol - is the other common cause. How alcohol actually triggers the inflammation in the pancreas is not clear. Symptoms typically begin about 6-12 hours after a heavy drinking session. In some people pancreatitis can develop even after a small amount of alcohol. In these people a 'sensitivity' to alcohol develops in their pancreas. In my case, I had gone out the night before and didn't even get that drunk.. I am not THAT big of a heavy drinker at all.. Just as much as any other normal person. And myra thank you. I know, it will be a very healthy life from now on. I am going to put the 20 bucks away from every check that I would normally put towards alcohol. I will put it into a savings account that I wont be able to easily access, and next year go on a trip or somthing. Last edited by Play-it-hard; Dec 28, 06 at 12:33 AM. |
