Naslund Continues To Struggle...

I dunno what's up with him...It's like what now? 15 games scorless? Is it really all have to do with his shoulder???

I dunno...

Did you guy's see him on the Shoot-Out game tonight vs Dallas? The guy freaking mis-skated and had to go around to get the puck again before going slower than driving Ms. Daisy towards Turko.

It's so frustrating to see him play like this...I really dunno what's going on! :(

^that was a rhetorical comment, such factless posts don't say anything about Naslund's performance this season, or speak of how to remedy his goal-drought.

secondly, I am pondering the idea if that steve moore hit on Naslund had anything to do with the way Naslund plays these days.

Since that time, his goal producing playing have really took a dive. It is amazing how concussions can take over a player's confidence and self-esteem. Even though he is paired with the red-hot sedins, and now the surging morrison, nothing is giving him the spark. He is downplaying any excuses that his shoulder is still injured and hampering his play. I dunno, but if I were the canucks owner, I'd higher Dan Cloutier to come down to practice with the Canucks one last time so Naslund is able to find his scoring touch. I mean, Cloutier has the awesome ability to let goals in! At least that would a smile on Markus's face...even mine too =) yeah~

I dunno man 84 points and 35 goals and 79 points and 32 goals isn't what i would call a terrible season. Maybe its not his 104 point season he had but those are still pretty good seasons.

Naslund was doing well at the start of the season, but now I don't think its just his shoulder. Its not even his shot thats the worst. Its his skating. Something is up.

Naslund skates very well. He charges with the puck off the wing. Right now he can barely keep up with third liners on the canucks.

He needs to rest. I honestly think it will do him wonders like it did the last time he was really injured and in a slump.

He came back to score 4 goals against pittburgh

I think he just misses Bertuzzi. For real, Naslund was seemd to play more confident with him and he seemd more happy.

And is it just me or does it seem like Naslund is losing lots of respect on the ice. I notice a lot more people taking shots at him not giving him the old "star player" respect.

Meaning he is skating slow, and looks weak. Prone for attacks

naslund's in a slump no doubt, injuries or not, i think its mostly a mental thing. i'd agree with kenji and say this guy seriously needs a break, maybe even play in the all-star game just to have some fun.

fuck put on a smile, and please dont be the first one to skate off the ice like you did last night.

Vancouver fans' solution to everything, everytime Vancouver is in a slump:

"the canucks suck. they need to fire the coach. they need to trade this guy, and that guy"

Man stick by your fucking team if your going to call yourself a fan! Teams have bad slumps, and so do players. As far as hockey fans go, Vancouver fans are the first to dump all over their team.

I think if he just went to get a full body Swedish massage and got his "stick" blown, he'd come out a man again and start scoring (in more than one way) hehe. =) Yeah, I also think he misses Bert. It's like he (Nassy) was Bert's bitch, no offense :(

apparently his glove came off before he got to the puck. though either way his shootout attempt was pretty sad.

his skating speed is so slow rite now. he needs a break badly

It's been quite an uphill battle for Naslund, but he is making a comeback and

getting some goals (instead of mere assists). That, and the fact he seems to

be having more fun in the game too. To see him smile once again, shows that

he is ready to get more points...especially now that the Canucks are winning

more on the .500 side of hockey!

The biggest thing right now isn't the goals he has scored. Its his skating. You can see the excitment for his again. He is enjoying himself, and getting himself to the puck because he is skating well again *note buffalo game goal*.

Everyones prime comes to and end and i think Naslunds just came super early.

Okay, so I did a little bit of youtube video dumpster diving and I found a little clip that was broadcasted by Global TV on the "greatest canucks". At about 2:30 min into the clip Pat Quinn, who is I think one of the most smartest and knowledgable hockey managers currently in the NHL, noted something a little bit on Naslund when we he a freshman with the canucks. Maybe the fact that the canuck captain is struggling because he is being really hard on himself...just like he was on himself in the past.
