round the world airfare??
Has anyone done a round the world trip before?
If so, which web companies / air lines / travel agencies would you recommend? I have plenty of time, Im just looking for suggestions because Im finding all the web fares in US dollars. |

It totally depends on how many and where your stops are but I went Vancouver to Sydney via Honolulu, Sydney to Istanbul via Kuala Lumpur (took trains through Eastern Europe from Istanbul to Warsaw), Warsaw to London, London to Vancouver via Dallas. I have no idea why via Dallas but that's how it worked.
I was originally gonna take a trip to Europe to visit friends and family in England then travel through Eastern Europe but my sister and her boyfriend convinced me to come via Australia to visit. Originally it was going to be around $2000 return to Europe it ended up being around $3000 for round the world. This was a student fare from STA and was cheaper then I could find elsewhere. I don't know if it's a great deal or not but I booked it about 10 days before I left so I took what I could get. |

^ I was going to sugest STA or Travel Cuts... From what I remember backbackers telling me and looking at round trips in Aus they came to around $2500. Like Jon said I think it depends on where you stop and if the flights are set in date or if you want them to be open flights.
Wow soo soon looking to travel, so enviouse! |

Ill have to take a look at Travel Cuts if its that reasonable! ;) This is the route Ive thought about Vancouver - London - Cairo - Bombay - Jakarta - Vancouver Sam - I dont work for Delta anymore.... :( Sorry Last edited by junglequeen; Jan 05, 07 at 01:10 PM. |

^^^ thats a crazy deal and pretty much exactly what i am looking for...
my stops would be.. vancouver..montreal... london...paris..amsterdam....mabie stopover in HK..off to tokyo and back home..... i looked into one in the summer.. and the shortest trips start from 3 months up to a year... your only allowed to travel in 1 direction with a set amount of stop overs....i think they also have packages u can kind of build yourself.... www.staralliance.com http://www.staralliance.com/en/trave...orld_fare.html Last edited by Veni*C; Jan 05, 07 at 03:57 PM. |
