judging by how extreme the black ice problem was, i don't think it would have really helped anybody... by the time the cars approaching the people waving them down would understand what exactly is going on, and hit their breaks.. they would be sliding anyways... and it doesn't help that most of the idiots slam their breaks.. you're not supposed to slam your breaks like that when you're already sliding
