Demolition has been ordered for this landmark. Both adjacent buildings will have to be torn down as well, including the Beat 94.5.

We had fun Plaza. Thanks for the good times and the memories from '86 :)

I was just about to post this.
The plaza of nations "enterprise hall" isnt going anywhere.

In a news release issued today, the City of Vancouver said it has issued a demolition permit to the owners, adding the work will have no affect on Enterprise Hall, home of the Edgewater Casino.
The statement also said that plans will be reviewed in future to rebuild or replace the performance venue.

its only the glass roof that is being torn down right now since its unsafe... sooner or later though everything will be demolisted around there..

that sucks! i hope they decide to rebuild it...i love plaza as an outdoor venue for concerts and shit. fuck, vancouver really is NO FUN CITY.

totally, some of the best shows i've ever seen were outdoors at the plaza..the roots, herbaliser, although the sound left a lot to be desired if you were standing in the wrong spot, van needs good outdoor venues!

The Malkin Bowl in Stanely park, Deer Lake, and Thunderbird are all great outdoor venues. Also it looks like a good chance the new soccer stadium will go through!! Write city hall and let them know you support it.

^I have a great story about that show!

I was in the pit and I had my wallet in the front pocket of my jacket... with like $300 in it. My wallet fell out and I dove into the pit to save it...losing a shoe in the process. About 15 min later a shoe gets thrown on stage and Scott Weiland says 'I appreciate the gesture but it's not my size' and throws it back into the pit.... yeah, my shoe... hahaha

Luckily I got it back at the end of the show... no trip home to Mission shoeless!

I never partied at Plaza of Nations but I was there once with two friends who walked me through what used to be grounds for some of the best days that raving has seen...

The "trippy escalator" was a funny story!
