Indy went to a short game because the Bears were guarding against the mid-rang/big play, and because the deluge made long bombs trickier. The plan seemed a bit dodgy early on, because they weren't able to put a lot of points between themselves and their opponents, but they stuck with it and, perhaps in part because they were so rarely on the field, the Bears offense never got in sync, and eventually Indy scored enough to give themselves some breathing room. That, and Grossman looked as catestrophically inept as he has all season, fucking the Bears over just as they were halfway expecting, particularly during that ugly stretch earlier in the regular season where he almost lost his job. The Bears have to question now whether keeping him was the right move; he manned up fairly well in the previous playoff games, but when the chips were really down, he was... well... Rex Grossman. As I alluded to in my Denny Green parody.
That better? |

I watched it. Colts won it but ya gotta agree with grapes about grossman though not all the blame can go to grossman because chicago was suppose to have this vaunted awesome defence. Their poor defence pretty much killed them in this game as much as anything the colts did.
Their defence seemed anything but though the game was pretty sloppy for the first half anyways. but ya grossman played the way all his critics know him to play. Surprised lovie smith never took him out and try something different. p.s: I'm very happy the colts won. Even if it wasn't the pretties game. |
