I need a mini vacation to clear my head and make me more productive
I know i wanna go on a cruise...
and suggestions? I was looking at an alaskan cruise.. it was 1000 for a 7 day cruise all inclusive.... is that a good deal? anyone been on an alaskan cruise? Do you get to get close to any glaciers? that'd be fucking awesome to be able to see glaciers but i'm not sure if they get that high up.. any ideas or feedback? note: it'd be for 2 people |

ive gone twice to alaska, one cruise went right up to the glaciers and then spent an hour slowely turning the boat around in a circle (check the itinerary i think they were the hubbard glaciers) if you've never been on a cruise before you would probably like it. go with royal carribean if you want excellent service the rest aren't that great. with nlc you get freestyle cruising (which means you get to choose where you eat for an extra charge per meal) so you arent assigned to sit at the same table in the same restraunt with the same strangers every night which is the tradition of all other cruise lines. it's actually not that bad when you are seated with people, they tend to seat you with people like yourself. with ncl you have more freedom but ive been on 3 of their cruises and the food sucked and the staff was lazy. 1000 isnt bad but if you wanted to get a better deal you could, if you didnt mind sleeping in an inside cabin(no window or balcony) i'm not sure what that would be like though.
in alaska there are a lot of activities, kyaking, white water rafting ect. |

personally id rather head down to mexico where it's warm and get drunk for free with their exclusive hotel packages. on a cruise you land up spending a lot of money without realizing it, they issue you onboard credit cards and thats how you pay for all your drinks.

Not really looking to get drunk and party. Going with my girlfriend and just want to take a relaxing vacation and see some cool stuff.
I recently lost my wallet and citizenship card and all that bullshit... does that mean i can't go on the cruise? since alaska is part of the united states. Or do you remember them not really checking ID's other the the standard drivers license to make sure you are who you say you are when claiming your ticket? |

Don't waste your money on a cold ass trip. Do a cruise down to mexico. If you wanna see alaska open your freezer. |

I also recommend NOT to do the Alaskan cruise... or at least not at this time of the year. Having lived just under the Alaskan Panhandle for a good chunk of my life, I can tell you the weather is not all that pleasent to deal with while out on the ocean, even if you are close to land.
A Baja cruise... now that's nice! |
