You shouldn't support places like that, first off its wrong to cage some animal in a cage and sell it for wayyy over the price it should be sold , let alone most of those dogs are from puppy mills , and most likely have been mistreated. Its very depressing to ever watch a puppy live in a cage where they eat, shit and sleep and let alone never get exercise.

I got my cat from the spca and I'd go back there to get any other pet's I get in the future. Even dog's from puppy mill need some love too. |

I never said that they don't deserve love , i feel every animal does. It's just supporting mills by purchasing your dogs from stores in where their placed and kept to live and then once there about 3 months their killed, tell me how thats right

It's sort of a win-win situation. I support the spca 100% but sometimes you have to go a different way. I really want a mini dashound..so cute. |

So you're going to save these animals by increasing the demand for puppy mills so that they have to produce (and ultimately kill) MORE puppies to meet the demand? I fail to see how this is supposed to make sense. The SPCAs are overflowed with animals that need good homes. At least that organization is LOOKING for homes for these animals instead of just putting them down because they're extraneous. Every puppy you buy in a store is killing one of those animals. So justify it to yourself however you want, but the truth is you're still buying into a system that grows, abuses and kills your "so cute" mini daschounds. |

All I am saying is that if someone wants so dearly a little dog and are not willing to go to the spca, then that ends up being one of your only options. Your still saving a puppy. |

Or there are other ways that are good ways for adoption, its through people who just genuinely care like non profit organizations, the ones i know of in vancouver is for pit bulls and greyhounds...we got to think about older dogs as well they need love, everyone just always goes for puppies.
