in all fairness he wasn't a good fit in Columbus and was having lousy season. Kesler has also had a lousy season but what do you got against Willie Mitchel? He plays big minutes against the other teams top line. Take away Mitchel and Ohlund and Loungo would be looking a lot more human.

^ i think he means his salary. I think Mitchell is making a tad too much. He does a fairly good job. Just think he is making abit more than he should though.

P.S: Carter is nothing without the right linemates. Rawb is right carter is only a 3rd or 4th liner unless he is lined up with star linemates.

Mitchel was signed imo based on his performance in the playoffs. He is capable of nullifying the other teams best offensive player. Mitchel > Bertuzzi (at his peak)

4 million these days gets you Adrian Aucoin, Brian Leetch, Roman Hamrlik, Norstrom Mattias, Zubov Sergei... or in other words players of around his calibre. Sure Zubov can move the puck a lot prettier but is no where near the defensive force that Mitchel is.

Also at 3.5 million Mitchel is $500,000 or so less than these guys.

You also have to factor in Mitchell has to play against the top line/top forward game in game out.. think about how many goals a number 1 line averages a game, 1-2 + you can only assume right? Span that out over 60 games, or whatever he's played and it's not really that bad of a stat. I think he's pretty solid, maybe not quite worth 4mil.. but think of jovo and his figures and the risks he'd always take.
