Wow, I thought I was pretty well the only person in Vancouver who cared about baseball. They're definitely few and far between here.
All the talk about the Yankees is meaningless. On paper they have the best team, yes, but they're one pitching injury away from missing the playoffs. Pettite was terrible last year, and his pitching elbow is pretty much shot again. If he goes down, the Yankees are toast. Igawa might not be any good. Mussina is older. Pavano will probably just collect another paycheque. Wang might not pitch as good as last year. They still have so many question marks for pitching it's not even funny. Not the my two favourite teams (Red Sox and Jays) don't have pitching problems. The Jays have lots of question marks after Halladay and Burnett. The Sox rotation is older, and they don't have a closer as of yet. The AL East is up for grabs. A few lucky breaks and the Jays will make the playoffs. But really, the Jays, Yankees, and Sox are one injury away from missing the playoffs. We'll see how things turn out. |

I can definitely say I'll be watching the Jays game at my place. The games in HD look amazing. I only got to catch a few Jays games in HD last season, since I only got HD hooked up right near the end of the season. Watching sports in HD is defintely worth the extra $5/month.

What bar? That be dope to check out a game on T.V. with people that really appreciate the game.

you are being too generous. the only player on the jays that even comes close to a-rod's ability is vernon wells. funny how they almost had identical seasons statistically, but people considered a-rod's season a disaster while wells' season was considered awesome. |

yankees are not one pitching injury away from making the playoffs. they haven't relied on pitching the last few years, but have made the playoffs each time. if one of their starters does go down, scott proctor can move from their bullpen or they have philip hughes waiting in the wings. he's probably the top pitching prospect in all of mlb. |
