Often times a copy will suffice for application to colleges and universities
But you would have to double check with the interested institution Once you have attended university your senior records (grade 11 and 12) are usually on your transcript (why, I have no idea) And if not, then contact your old high school and get your wallet out! |

basically you have to print off the form on there, fill it out, then mail/fax it with credit card info and your transcripts will be sent to your institution of choice! DO NOT GET THEM SENT TO YOURSELF!!!!! Transcripts aren't accepted from students since they could be tampered with, so you have to get them sent directly to wherever you are applying. And yes they are necessary, I had to send them even though I was applying to university from college and my highschool grades were a part of my college transcripts too. |

^Bureaucracy at its finest!
It's not just a matter of whether you graduated high school or not. They need to know what courses you took and what grades you got in those courses. That way they can see if you have achieved the particular prerequisites and recuirements for the programs and courses you want to take. |
