Hired!
Omg..
no more stress. I quit my job 3 weeks ago... was totally getting worried.. thanks to advice from dear friend charlie tuuuuna, i went to the personel department (unemployment agency) did a series of tests (yesterday mind u) and got a call back 15 minutes after i had left the office to go on three interviews today. i spent the whole day running around, and trying my best. I just got a call back saying the first interview i went on this morning was outstanding, i totally shined against all other candidates (16 in total) and I got the job! You're looking at the new members ass****nt for the Better Business Bureau for the Lowermainland. Basically I'm the one you complain to lol. And I try to validate if your complaint is worthy lol. hahaha. LOTS of training up ahead, LOTS of things to do throughout the day. But its great pay, super close to home and the enviroment seems pretty cas. YAY! I start Thursday aaaaaaaaaaaaand, the end. p.s. MORAL OF THE STORY. Don't be afraid of those unemployment agencies, they really work! And don't give up. Keep trying. I was seriously starting to worry. But yay! |

high five. i was laid off in november and i decided to try out a recruiter (teksystems). she had tons of options for me and i ended up getting the first job i applied for as well. i think that by using a recruiter or agency like this, you're mentally shortlisted in some ways, because the agency has already been through interviews with you and it reflects badly on their agency to refer someone underqualified.

Yeah those unemployment agencies really work, their job is to find you a job. If you're unemployed and are looking for work, why wouldn't you go to them, makes alot of sense to pay them a visit, it pays of in the end.
I never used them, but I know people who have and they all got jobs within days. If I'm ever unemployed I'll go through them too, but I doubt I'll need to since I love my job :) |

Congrats!
I work on the other side of that interview desk all day long and I can tell you that there's a ton of idiots who come through that door daily. If you have the skills, and if you are dedicated, I have no problem hiring you. I hated working for personnel agencies when I had to use them, but it's something entirely different hiring people now... |
