Seeing your friends succeed!

A good friend of mine from high school is in a local band called Faber Drive that entered the CFOX Seeds comp a couple years back. They ended up walking away the winners and that lead to them being signed by 604 Records.

Shortly after they signed with Universal Records in the US. Now they've got regular songs in rotation on Z and the Beat (Second Chance) and on the fox (24 Story Love Affair). Their first ever video has been released now as well.

The lead singer has had many bands over the years and if anyone deserves his shot at stardom it's this guy, he's worked hard for it! Like I said in the title... it's really cool to see friends succeeding in their dreams!

Yeah, they're not for everyone. I realize they have that bubblegum punk deal going on and while it's not my genre of choice I still enjoy their music. I think it's the fact that I've watched the guy work at what he wants for 15+ years and have just kinda pulled for him the whole time.

The biggest thing for me is that now that they're signed with 604 I have the fear that Kroeger is gonna have to get his mitts in on Dave's writing. I heard a newer song from the boys at their last show and it had Nickelback written all over it. If Dave puts his foot down and continues to write his songs his way they'll go much further I think.

No diss to your friend, but didnt they do that horrible song "sex and love"?

Props to hear him and his band are doing well though.
Always nice to see local bands making it.
