Morgan Freeman’s Floating Movie Poster Face

Chris Thilk over at Movie Marketing Madness turned me on to this idea when he pointed out that there’s a commonality among movie posters - the “Floating Face” technique. For those of you who don’t know about the “Floating Face” technique, essentially it means sticking a cast member’s face on a movie poster with no accompanying body parts (except maybe the neck).
As Chris mentioned, it’s common to see movie posters with two or more actors’ floating faces divided by something (e.g. title of the movie). So I went on a mission looking for the top ten “Two Floating Face” posters, which is a time consuming process, and found something very funny that I had to post about. For some reason, many Morgan Freeman movies have his floating face on the cover, possibly more than any other actor (that is an extremely interesting challenge to undertake if you want to find out).
