you should be able to, depends on what berry you are using though

on this one, its under profiles, advanced, then SMS. then you can change and make a tone just for text.

I don't think you can change your text message alerts (physical ones). If you are looking to change it so that it beeps or blinks more often when you receive a message - I don't think that's possible. I've had a Pearl for over 4 months now and I still haven't figured that out.

Ignore what I said earlier - I finally figure out how to change the alerts. You go to your ringer choices, select Advanced - and in that next window you can use the menu function on each alert and customize it.

My brother's was doing the exact same thing, it was because he overloaded his blackberry with media files. Either delete some or get a card to increase storage space.

i'm getting a treo 680 on monday, seems like blackberries are more popular, but i've done a bit of research and i think the treo will serve me better.
