Saturday night suggestions...???
So here's the story... I just graduated with honors on friday and want to go celebrate tonite, but I'm soo sick of going to the Mirage and the Standard and stuff with my friends, but NONE of them are willing to go somewhere that plays house/techno/etc. which i love... and to boot, my g/f won't go either cuz' she's still got finals to study for, grrr =-)... so i figured i'd post on here and see what's up... I've heard of the Red Room *never been, don't know if it's any good but thought I'd check it out tonite, unless someone here could suggest somewhere better for a first timer* and secondly see if anyone here would be interested in comin out and havin a good time w/ some randoms...?

Shine is a good bet.
Also, Signal @ Lotus...it's electro/house but you'd be suprised how much "normal"/top-40/non-EDM-lovers tend to like it. It's a fun crowd, always packed, bangin tunes, lots of dancing. Someone I brought last week commented on the chill vibe. He's used to regular bars where the guys are all agressive and everyone's trying to look cool. He loved the fact that everyone was laid-back and having a good time. Wow I sound like an advertisement lol... |

this is prolly ingorance talking, but isn't lotus and red room the same building? one club above the other? i thought they were like doolins and the cellar, interchangeable and all... but from the sounds of it lotus is winning, so thanx for the advice =-) |

^no not remotely. Red Room is a few blocks away.
Honey, Lotus and Lick share a building but are very different clubs. On Fridays Honey seems to be hip-hop/reggae-ish (your friends have somewhere to escape to if they don't like lotus! lol), Lotus is as described above and Lick is a lesbian bar. |

oh, wow, well, i had no idea... basically my only local "in club" exposure to the techno/house scene around here has been when I went to visit my cousin at work *she used to be the bouncer for Celebrities*... the music there was awesome, Dicky was a great dj, but the *alternative lifestyle* people that frequent that club just aren't my crowd... so where are the straight clubs that play equally good house?
