I can speak English, French (highschool level), Spanish (tourist level), Gaelic (basics that my mum taught me.) I'm learning Dutch from my father right now for when I go see my family next year, but I think I'm going to enroll in a summer course as well so that I can really perfect it

yeah I know but alot of my family are in smaller towns where their English isn't as good...and I thought it would be fun to learn, Dutch making up half my heritage and all.

I know basic sign language, but ive forgoten A LOT since I hardly ever use it. I managed to learn a fair amount (way more than I though) of Portugeise and Spanish while traveling. Personaly thats the best way to learn and remember. I find language is something thats easy to forget if you dont use it, but you can quickly pick it up again if you need too.

I've heard Dutch is really hard to learn with most of the sounds coming from the throat.

it really is...once you get comfortable with the feeling of making your throat produce noises that feel so whack, it starts flowing a bit easier.
