Promotions are GREAT... except at the expense of a co-worker!
Got a very unexpected promotion today... more money and guaranteed work. I'm stoked about it and all but unfortunately it came at the expense of a coworker getting fired.
The guy has messed up numerous times, he was on warning 6 or 7 I think. It's not like he didn't deserve it maybe but you could tell that he'd lived a rough life and been kinda kicked on for most of it too. Basically he's got a heart of gold and he means well but he rode the 'people feel sorry for me' bandwagon to the point that the boss lost it. Either way.... advancing really is great but I can't help feeling horrible about sliding into his role due to the fact that I feel so bad for the guy. |

"feel sorry for me" guys = master manipulators
he's good. you even made a thread about it. i wouldn't feel bad for a person like that. that's exactly what he wants. this time it cost him his job. maybe he'll smarten up. either way, good for you! |
