US VS BC's Raves
Tell me what you guys think about this .......
have you ever noticed whenever you watched TV and you saw those raves in movies, tv shows, etc. that we all laughed ! and were like " thats a fucken rave ! they harsh make fun of it n stuff " but if u've partied In the US you would know that it is EXACTLY ! like movies, tv shows. Better Here ? or There ? i dunno i think the vibe is tighter down there... meaning THEY love the word PLUR !!!!!! and use it !!! and show it !!! here... at times Raves here scare the shit outta me ! and its NOT cause of drugs.. just seein the surroundings ....... its not PLUR !!! however breaks room is......... in states.... all stages got a Wicked VIBE ! so i dunno........ what do you guys think ??? |

^^um... I might just be speaking for myself here, but we were pretty much all sober.
But yeah I had the best time!! It was totally something out of a movie.. that was my first thought when I saw everyone in the line-up.. HELLO kandy anyone? Never have I ever seen so many glo-stix in one night :P The venue was insane.. soooo much stuff going on there! My favorite part of the night: "Are you rollin'?" |
|
|||
yup !
Definetly !!! hahahhaha the US Talk !
" YOU ROLLIN ! " hahahahahahaha loved that one !! heres one ... had some chick walkin by me askin me for a smoke and i was like " ya balhbalbhla did yuou have fun at the party " and shes like " ya" " oh by the way were is your accent from ? " and i was like waaaaaaa ??? accent ? ahhaha thats a first for me ! |

ok. 99% of the ppl in attendance at USC6 would have been EATEN ALIVE by the vancouver party scene. glow stix and massive candy in the jungle room? ha! they would'nt have lasted 1 minute.
personally, i prefer the U.S. party, candy and all. everyone is happy, friendly... i felt like i was at an ACTUAL RAVE rather than a 'party' ya know? lol. but maybe thats not what you want. my opinion of americans (ravers at least) has changed quite a bit. we like to think that canadians are the nicest and friendliest and that americans are arrogant and stupid... but i think we should seriuosly re-evaluate that attitude. i found them to be completely open and welcoming, more so than in van, drugs or no drugs. whatever, be bittah if ya like. thats always fun too. lol |

I've only ever been to one party in the states; Get Lucky last St. Patrick's day in Bellingham.
"Are you rollin'?" "Did you drop?" and "Want some e-bombs?" Were the most intelligent phrases I heard out of any American's mouth the entire night. You guys want to know why they seemed so friendly? Why the glowsticks and kandy were aplenty? Probably because the majority of them were most likely fucked out of their tree. I sat around with Ozz and Hamish the entire night making fun of their pathetic dancing and their PLUR. Personally, I think PLUR is a load of crap because it constitues being fake. IMO, Vancouver parties are far better. The only reason I'd ever go back down to the States for a party is if there was a really amazing lineup, and even at that I'd probably still be somewhat reluctant. The only good thing about my experience was that I didn't even have to TRY while dancing and I still looked like a show off. heh. Small joke! I think that the vibe here is a lot better because it's REAL. Fewer people being fake toward one another; some people regard that as "agro", I regard it as being real, and I respect those who can speak their true opinions about others and not hold back just because said person may be a friend of a friend. All in all, the score: Canada : yes! USA : no. |

hhah when i saw an assload of kids wearing candy and i said "kandy, what the fuck." the guy behind me said "ohh you must be from vancouver." i guess its known that the vancouver scene is lacking in plur and glowsticks..id iagree with galaxie in saying that the yanks like to buy into that plur shit, personally i don't really give a fuck about plur, im not gonna be running around like some etarded giving everyone i talk to hugs, plur is fake. but at the same time im not really down with the huge attitudes alot of vancouver kids have, those attitudes are even lamer then plur.
fuck i don't think this post makes much sense, ill blame it on sleep deprevation, but heres some main points 1..american party kids are fckin morons, plur is lame 2 vancouver people/parties are generaly far more cracked out then american, i saw not one death circle, and only a couple of people who were fucked outta their minds and lying on the ground. 3 i porefer vancouver parties, maybe its just because im not from seattle, but i like the fact that the vancouver scene is much smaller, and evryone seems to know each other up here. |

nevermnind ... hehe
ummmm yes i do say the vancouver vibe in the BREAKS ROOM ! is tighter ! or the Chill Room ! but you guys know what i'm talkin about here !! like imagine having a party as big as USC and having that vibe on all stages !!
|

Hmm... Well the vibe is well a little different from Canada thats 4 sure. PLUR is followed more there than vancouver, of course a lot more people do go to parties there. Leslie, most of the people were sober. And when I was sober for the first 2 1/2 hrs I had a fun time. People weren't as approachable as other US parties I've been to, but the vibe was still aiht.
Tim, its hard to say how the vibe for the breaks room was cuz there really wasn't a breaks room. Too bad you weren't there when Icey was spinning and saw Bev in the circle. The circle was huge!!!!! In terms of vibe, the states is a bit better cuz there are so many different type of people there to meet. (plur, casual, thug etc). But the 1 thing that Canada has that US cant have is dancing skills. Fuck, you just know who is a Canadian by the way we dance. I got approached a few times if I was Canadian based on my dancing. I have to say its very flattering when a stranger comes up and comments on your dancing. |

The Vancouver rave scene is just simply hurting. We probably have one of the worst scenes for a big city in the world. And its not because of our promoters, DJ's and venues. Its because its mostly bitter kids who complain about everything. Kids who complain that 30 bucks for a plaza party is a rip off, the music sucks, plur sucks, kandy kids suck, junglists suck etc etc.
In other cities, turn outs like like over 4000-5000 at your average rave and seriously, they charge 100-150 bucks. and you know what? PEOPLE WILL GET THEIR MONEYS WORTH! We're tlaking a MASSIVE lineup similar to USC, Summerlove, Wemf... most of the times EVEN BETTER! So all u bitter ass kids, either find a new hobby or shut your jibtek faces and pay the $$ to the promoters for a quality show |

ive come to this relization as well, most of the partiers in vancouver are bitter and agro little fucks including myself. no one likes anything, fuck why do we even party since all we do is complain about how much it sucked afterwards...its not just the party scene tho, vancouver is full of whinners and bitches in all sections of society. |

Well I'd have to say that our party kids are better. Well not all he party kids. Hmmm..... how can I phrase this. OK All of the people who are my party buddies. Cuz we all go and rip shit up. Don't give a fuck about what else is goin on. And aren't arrogant lil' fucks that are too cool to talk to certain people. But I guess I'm a bit of a hypocrit in the sense that you have to draw the line somewhere. There are some people that are downright scary and well I'd have a better time If I didn't have to talk to or se people that scare me. The bottom line there are more people in the US that scare me as oppsed to ones that scare me over here. (not counting sketchy nammers, I've grown a sense of immunity towards them and pretend they don't exist anymore). Super Duper Big ass bonus to canadians cuz we can bust it up. WERD!!!!!!!!Breaking is one thing, dancing is another. A breaker that can't dance, doesn't get my full respect. You gotta have a rythym. YA KNOW. THis post is draggin on...... take it as you wish

The funniest experience I had at a party in the states was when some chick came runnin up to me and was like how old are you? I was like 19 and she was like No way!!! I thought you were older. Then she was like how old do you think I am? I was like I havent a clue. Then she was like come on guess and did some totally over exagerated Marlyn Menrow modeling posses and shit. I dunno I had to laugh cause she was so serious as she flipped her hair and did those weird things.

This topic should be Vancouver vs Seattle Raves if thats whats being compared. Not every city in the US has the same exact rave scene. It differs from region to region and city to city. Seattles rave scene is different than LA's rave scene and LA's is different than Phoenix raves and Phoenix raves are different than Chicago raves and Chicago raves are different than Milwaukee raves and Milwaukee raves are different than Ohio raves and Ohio raves are different than New York raves and New York raves are different than Miami raves...........................but the Seattle scene and Vancouver scene is very different........the raves in seattle bring in a more diverse crowd than vancouver which i like, the seattle partiers are just look more like ravers than the vancouver party people........the atmosphere at seattle raves feels like more of a rave than vancouver parties do, sometimes at vancouver parties i felt like i was at a really bad high skool dance from a few years back............both have different dancing styles, i seen some really awesome dancers at both scenes but for some reason Seattle party people do a lot of sitting and standing around and more vancouver party people break it down on the dance floor which is always good, but vancouver dancers turn dancing into too much of a competition than anywhere else i been to...............a couple things i seen at all vancouver parties and is almost unheard of anywhere else, are the nammer family reunions that sometimes make up for about 80% of the people there and the super-high ticket prices, that just does not happen in other cities............and also just like anywhere else, a massive like USC differs in so many ways than a smaller party with only a couple thousand or a few hunred party people, so to compare vancouvers scene to seattles USC massive aint fair either..........from what i have seen in other cities, overall i would put the vancouver party scene on the lower end compared to other cities.............but i usually did manage to have a good time at almost all the vancouver parties i went to and i met a lot of really awesome people too............
