Raver Progression - For Dummies.
you start off as a wide eyed innocent child...
whether you be dressed in fun fur and neon colours.. or your grade school clothes and phat pants... you go for the new experience, the new music, the new people... then you have realizations about the drugs. Everyone is on them. So you should be too... *even if you haven't/don't do drugs...they've have ALWAYS been around you and your friends* after that...you submerse yourself into a genre... trancehead, junglist, hardcore, breaker, house fiend, gabba... and the genre becomes what you are... you are labeled because of your music.. *seem fair???* you've been raving for almost 6 months now. slowly...the aftereffects of the drugs begin to show.. the e makes you cranky and depressed. the k makes you slow and stupider. the jib makes you scabby and death like. the coke starts to fuck up your nose and throat...as would ANYTHING you've been snorting.. by the end of the year... you're rude. you're tired. you're worn out. you've become bitter to anyone that doesn't fit your ideal mold of what a person should be. you dismiss any ideas foreign to your own or your friends. you think people wearing the fun fur and neon colours are crazy and don't know what they're doing. you're a raver. that's more or less how it goes... you'll also reinvent yourself a few times....follow some trendy shit like a dog sniffing an ass....decided what's "cool" and what's not a few more times.. and then hopefully...before you land yourself in an ambulance... you quit the drugs and start pounding booze like there's no tomorrow slowly becoming an alcoholic and giving yourself insane amounts of liver damage every weekend... you will start to go to clubs...the 19+ room will become your haven.. then....you'll get up enough guts to say "fuck this" and leave the only social outlet you have.... at that point...you're either strong enough to stay away and better yourself.. or you get sucked back in after you've made your 3rd "I'm Leaving The Scene" thread on F&K..... and that's the jist. -F. |

Sweetie, I had this lifestyle before the partying community, STEREOTYPES, THE KIND I LIKE.
The beautiful thing about stereotypes is that most the time, people put them on you, and you don't go out to make yourself a stereotype. But goddamn, and I a jaded, better than thou kind of person, and I'll let you know that. STABBY, bitter, jaded, and only 19. "Yes.. raving made me bitter. Now I just go for the drugs." -S(tabby)- |

god.
i'd hate to know you when you're 40. but judging by the attitude, i'm sure you'll have your face beaten in by the time you hit 25. unless....the only time you act like this big of a nasty bitch is when you're safely behind your computer, typing in all the foul words you could ever want to type. -F. ~fuck, cunt, bitch, slut, whore, ass, rim, chod a,dick, balls, pussy, cock~ |

i used to get caught up in explaining and defining where people are and where i am, but it really doesn't matter. it just ends up in bullshit posturing and excuses for everyones behaviour.
no more raver/ex-raver/philosopher/candykid/junglist/'breaker'/jibtech drama, please. it comes down to one question. "are you having fun?" sort accordingly. |

not another ishkur is "god of the rave scene" post. he was hardly the first person to come up with this "raver's philosophy". |

I have a hard time taking seriously anyone whose nickname begins with "DJ". |

and therefore, i liked the original a lot better. i hold no love for the 'state of the scene adresses' or the seanbaby.com website. |

For crying out loud, I spin, but you don't see a "DJ" infront of "galaxie" now do you? |

just stop giving ishkur all the credit when the attitudes and ideals in DJ Valtrex's original post have been around way before anybody on this board started "raving". it's like mythology, the first "state of the scene address" was probably a comment made by some kid years ago. |
