I tried changing the bead on my eyebrow ring once and i used two pairs of pliers...and i did it in front of the mirror so i could see what i was doing...but i forgot that in the mirror, everything is kind of reversed..so yeah....i ended up tearing it a bit. It didn't feel to nice.

Save on has rings and barbells??? COOL MAN. I'm gonna have to take a look there one of these days. I could spend hours just looking at barbells and rings and stuff

I wash my navel piercing with neutrogena soap since I don't have any "antibacterial" soap. but if you think about it, soap itself is pretty much antibacterial.

and about the epsom salt thing. when I first got mine done, I was cleaning it once a day with soap and once a day with epsom salt.. but I was told from another place that should only done maximum twice a week, because if you do it too much, it'll dry out the area, actually making it worse for the healing process. made sense, so I stopped.

epson salts are soo cool!!! they relax the muscles on your piercing and reduce the swelling. but yea you aren't suppose to use it all the time. its not good. and you don't need to get antibacterial soap. just use plain old neautrogena that what i do.

oh yea i have my eyebrow doen. i had both lobes and my left cartelidge before but i took them out.

but if i take it out...i'll be taking out a PEICE OF ME...cuz i've had it for so long. i need anti-rejection meds. even though they don't make them. they should though. i'd personally buy a few crates of the stuff.

Starsprite and Clink, goto the nightmarket...there's ONLY one stand that sells barbells (for navel) and is only for $15 each!
Is the same one you see in Save-On & Landsdowne & etc.

I've got one & bargain down to $13...I'm a cheapass...hoho~ =)

(Claires in RC -sp?- got some selections of barbells too. But of cuz, cost a bit more.)

I finally got my labret piercing!!!
ten days ago.... i had been thinking about it for a long time and suddenly i just decided "today!" and did it. I got silver barbell with a pale purple jem... kinda goes with the pink hair. I love it even though i had to get a longer barbell that sticks out a bit (you have to at first in case of initial swelling)... i'll get it changed to a shorter one in a couple more weeks.
it's fun to play with the back part that's in my mouth even though i'm not supposed to... it's like a permanent toy attached to my body! now i'm jealous of people with their tonges pierced cause i bet those would be fun too...

labrets are my favorite peircing ever

some people who have it done have a really tough time with their gums though...then again others don't have any problems.

but, in my opinion, they're the best peircing out there.

the worst peircing: an UN-eyebrow peircing

when i first got my eyebrow peirced, i got an un-eyebrow peircing (peirced bellow my actual eyebrow cuz i was even more obsessed with Jay Gordon, lead singer of Orgy, back then). but now i have a normal eyebrow peircing. I don't like crazy peircings like medusas or cheek peircings...un-eyebrow peircings are ugly now that i think of it.

yeah... i was a bit worried that my labret would chew up my gums but actually the way it sits it's touching my teeth so i haven't had any problems...

Twig-E, I have to agree with you about the un-eyebrow, cheek etc. piercings... I don't like them cause to me they look like mistakes!

the 1st time it rejected: about a year
the 2nd time it rejected: about 5 months
3rd time it rejected: didn't really reject...just got pulled and it kinda teared the ring out a little bit.
the 4th time: it's rejecting right now...i THINK and i got it repeirced in january. but i got it checked and supposedly the ring is just "settling" into place behing previous scar tissue and this time it shouldn't reject. fingers crossed.

i don't like colored beads or fancy things...i either like full rings or stainless steel beads. i have a steel bead on my eyebrow ring.

i had a bad experience with plyers as well...i think i posted the story on the last page but basically i tried taking out my eyebrow ring at home...got two pairs of plyers...sat in front of a mirror to see what i was doing and attempted to take the ring out...not a good idea cuz in the mirror everything seems reversed and i ended up tearing my eyebrow even more.

well considering your peircing has probably fully healed, the grade of steal a ring is made out of probably won't matter too much. If i were you, i'd go to Ardene or Claire's Accesories and just purchase a ring from them. Their rings are relatively cheap compared to places like Next and First. As for the orange bead...a place like Ardene MIGHT have rings with orange beads but i highly doubt it. You should buy your ring from Ardene and then go to Next and buy an orange bead (they're very cheap).

BUT...if you got your peircing done at a place like Next or First or any other peircing place (excluding stores in malls like Ardene), you should be able to exchange your barbell for a ring. They mightcharge you a sterilization fee but that's it. You should phone them and find out.

hehe thanks nemesis

dragon boi: another place you could look at is Metal Smiths...i know they have on in Park Royal Mall (in west vancouver) but i'm not sure on their other locations. You might wanna give them a call. I know they sell peircing jewellery...i just don't know how much variety they have. it's worth a shot though.

hehe at Claire's Accessories...i'm so cheeeeep..i know i know needles are better and i should have gone to Next..but thats what happens....it only cost like 30 bucks!
Needles actually aren't better, it doesn't matter!
You can't sterilize the gun, no, but it doesn't NEED to be sterilized because it's not the gun that does the piercing. What they do is put the sterile inside brand new plastic pieces that go on the gun, then the earring point is the part that goes through your ear. It's perfectly safe.

In fact, I got my nose pierced with a gun at some ghetto East Indian place on Main Street near 49th ave. It's been two months and it's healed just fine - - better than my ears. I figured, hey, if all those East Indian ladies can get theirs done with a gun and be fine, so could I! hehe =0)

Hey hun, my ex-boyfriend's eyebrow piercing wouldn't heal, and then it did, and then it rejected again, then he got it switched to a barbell rather than a hoop and it healed in like two weeks. It's totally fine now and he hasn't had any more problems with it since he changed it and it's been like 8 months or so.
Give that a try, unless you already have =)
