What do you love/hate about B.C.?
Thought I would get to know some of you a bit better by asking what makes B.C. home for you and what do you love/hate about the place.
Here's my lil' tale about the place...I visited about 5 years ago, was just a spur of the moment thing as I had only read about the place and did not know anyone that had visited, just felt this draw towards it that you get with some places. I was only there for 2 weeks but oh boy did I have a wicked time!!:Kam: Started off in the Quality inn Vancouver...run of the mill hotel, stayed there for about a week as I got to know the workings of the city and done the usual sightseeing bits. Highlights: Wow there was lots in first week...there is not alot (if anything) I can fault about this city, but if I was asked to name 1 thing that really hit me about the place it was the people...I never got any bad vibes from anyone there, apart from some street punk with a french accent who I assumed was east coast dropout, and everybody was so open, laidback, friendly and helpful...at times I was overwhelmed. Ok enuf gushing...I done a bike tour around the big park (with zoo) full of bladers and boarders veerrrrrry relaxing, went to the then Mars/Wett club, was a bit cheesy but ok, lots of shopping in fekin huge department store. Discovered Kissemere beach (spelling?) great place with a good mix of people. 2nd week was more varied...hired a ride nice lil sports number...hehe funny thing was I had forget my license and only had a visa number, no card, yet still got a ride for $150 for a week...when I first got it I just drove and drove, some stunning rides out there. Decided to hit whistler, was about end of April time (i think) and world board championships had just finished, so everyone was tired and the place was kinda quiet but that was cool, no queues at lifts etc...and got a nice hotel room cheap. Took a snowmoblile ride to top of Blackcomb and saw one of the views of my life of the rockies...amazing. Ok fingers getting sore now....went back to Vancity, found some offroad drives burned the ass off the hire car...bus crashed into me in the city, hehe i shit myself no damage to me or car, but i was so shocked/mad i kiked the bus...people on bus were laffing their tits off, must of thought I was a loon. Stayed at Youth Hostel for a few days right next to sea and harbour....nice. Allinall one of my fave places in the world....did I miss anything good/bad about the place? |

You have some of the most stunning and extreme scenery, eg on the same day I was skiing and then lying on a beach!!!, in the world imho.
the weather was very strange...it was beautiful for about 90% of the time...then on my last day it was extremely cloudy and the air was 'thin'...i had been told that the area had a tropical climate, but i found this very hard to believe....still do. |

Ok so we all agree that the area is stunning as demonstrated by the perfectly contrasting, beautiful pictures...one thing that I found very strange when there was the population of black folks.
I saw very few, which was very surprising as I visited Seattle (another part of trip) which has a typical popualtion of blacks for North America, so it was nothing to with demographics. Can anyone explain this? |

The one thing i totally love about vancity is the scenery, i moved to Utah for like 2 months and had to suffer looking at some
bare-ass hills with tumble weeds on them, i missed everything about vancouver, the water, the trees, the poeple, EVERYTHING, so i moved back and i am never moving out of van ever again |
