I think this term is misused too much..

I consider "back in the day" as a minimum of 5 years ago.. what do you consider back in the day?

BACK IN THE DAY WE DIDN'T HAVE CELL PHONES, WE HAD TO WALK 10 MILES IN 4 FEET OF SNOW (cuz u know it snowed way fucken more BACK IN THE DAY), UPHILL, NAKED, TO GET TO THE NEAREST PAYPHONE...

so usually if someone starts off a sentence with "back in the day", i kinda just smile and nod instead of saying GUESS WHAT BUDDY YOU'RE NOT FOOLING ANYBODY BUT YOURSELF AND MAYBE A COUPLE TEKKERS YOU CONVINCED BY GIVING THEM CRACK YOU PROBABLY STOLE FROM YOUR BROTHER...

I miss 'back in the day' when we were younger and we had no rides and when someone got a cell or a pager it was like the most exciting thing. And when we wouldn't even have to think of shit to do, we would always find something that was exciting or real fun. Now its like we always sit around and keep asking the same fucking question......."So what do you wanna do? Not sure, what do you wanna do?" and how we need drugs and alcohol to get us fucked instead of that ol natural high of being young. And on the rare occasion when we did drugs or drank we would get so fucked compared to now. But now its all the same ol....shit.
