Confirmed: Two Dead At Apex

After talking on the phone today with the on-site RCMP supervisor at Apex and confirming the information from my uncle, another RCMP supervisor for the Langley Detachment. There were 7 cases of overdoses' at last weekends Apex Rave event held at the Popkum Native Reserve.

The bad news: TWO of those SEVEN that overdosed at the event have died due to unidentified additives that were either injested in a combination of ecstacy and alchohol or a deadly batch of pressed tabs being circulated at the event.

Use your common sense people, don't buy your shit from sketchcases you don't know at a rave.

Haven't heard anything recently in the news? Well POPKUM lies just outside of Chilliwack and is far less accessible; whereas a rave held at a public facility like The Plaza of Nations or the PNE Colliseum would have ample media dispatched to cover the 'news'.

FUTURE ACTION: ?
Natives will nolonger allow raves on their land, due to risk of death and other legalities.
RCMP may conduct extensive vehicle searches or deny access and turn people away from the event altogether.

That's reallly bad. I did notice that ALOT of ppl were high at that party. i didn't see or hear about any of the overdoses while i was there though. That's very sad :(

are you sure about this? i spoke with both the head paramedic and head security coordinator and both confirmed that while there were 3 overdoses, none of them were fatal. regardless of where the party was, there would be some media coverage had 3 people died at the party. tbc ...

i really can't see the rave scene lasting any longer.

Either everyone smartens the fuck up and respect the musical aspects of rave culture, or expect no more under 19 events.

Theres many great people in the scene i've met lately. Its a shame that there is the minority of "sketchcases" that ruin the fun for everyone else.

If it is true, it was somewhat predictable... I was on the bus with my bf the day of Apex and sitting in the back were the biggest idiotic ravers I had ever seen. This is a quote: "I do about six caps of E at every rave now, I have been doing E for a couple of months now" and "What? You have never done more than one cap of E??"

You simply can't monitor such a massive event. Putting a bunch of irresponsible, sketchy kids on a massive field far from civilization, with limited security, promoters that probably don't give a shit, expensive water, drugged up kids that don't know what they're doing, kids that just go there to get rid of their batch, etc. is just asking for trouble... oh well, it makes the promoters money and it's just some good old fun right?

thank goodness the rave community dodged blame on that one! because we all know, the only form of drug abuse is actually ODing on pills. as long as you make it out of the rave alive and concious, then you are partying responsibly.

i honestly don't believe it...its bullshit..this guy is just a shit disturber..i checked vancouver sun's web site and it say's nothing of any deaths at apex.

honestly even if it was true i really wouldn't give a shit, anyone who is dumb enuff to fry their body by eating 6 caps of e deserves to die. its just natural selection people, remember that kid at spooky? he ate 5 caps and was 90 pounds, its his own fault he died, he shouldve did some research before he poped. or better yet not popped at all.
