Download Ad-aware. This isnt new but I'm still amazed at how many people dont know about it.

If you've never run this application.... you'd probably be very surprised at how much big-brother ware is installed on your machine.

yea man everytime i reboot my computer, my desktop wallpaper turns into a WHP promo... even with ad-aware installed...

the best option is to not install spyware to begin with.

ad-aware, while nice, does have a habit of breaking some normal programs.

No, I tend to do network infrastructure and cost/benefit analysis and consolidation for corpoate networks.

The cost consolidation keeps me busy. As opposed to network infrastructure spending, people right now want to cut fixed costs.
