Two DJ's in one House
Ya. Anyone here live with another DJ and is a DJ as well. Cause if you are you share my pain. Whenever i want to get and spin my big bro beats me to it. Its fustrating sometimes. Cause like we have the computer the turntables and the TV all in one room. So like if hes watching TV i can't spin. And when he does get up from the TV he hits up the dex right away. There must be a way that I can beat him.
DJ's, any suggestions? |

Heh...I lived in a house full of "DJ's", and everyone who'd come over was a "DJ" as well. However, I came up with a solution which solved my problems for casual mixing...
I SWITCHED TO CD'S!!!!! No, don't worry. It's not that difficult to use a superior sound quality format that is far more readily available to the masses which includes equipment on par with turntables. You can do it! |

Don't worry. It was a bit of a joke. I find it hilarious that aspiring DJ's short-change CD's all the time when even the big-wigs use'em. There's just so much more available on digital than vinyl.
On a more serious note, there are a few solutions. You could always just mix with multiple headphones. Or get your own set-up (which would be mighty costly but worth it in the end), or, *gasp*, convince your brother to share...? (or is sibling rivalry really bad?) |

ya but its hooked up to my bros stero. so it kinda works both ways.
Shit just recieved new that my bros friend is coming over to spin. they want to do a tag team. but i can't stand the music the spin, well i can stand it. but fuck man. just one of those days |

easiest is to take your needles and headphones.
tell your brother to get his own because all djs should have their own. Then he has to *ask* you for your shit to play until he gets his own stuff. When he gets his own stuff, it will take him a minute to get it out of his room..... of course its your setup so you have it right handy.... just an idea. sounds like a bad scene. I live with two other DJs but we have a separate studio room just for the tables, so its only a problem of who happens to be spinning, not the tv and computer and etc. |

hes got his own phones and shit.
Okay heres the over view. My - Mixer His/My - tables ( partly mine because he owes me money for them, but i have my own set of techs to ) headphones - his ( but i got my own ) needles - ( his, cause idon't want to use my at home heheh ) |

you dont use your needles at home?
are you saving them for parties? Thank god my brother plays the drums.. I dont have to fight for the decks with him. Here's what i'd do. Find out who's better (you or your brother) if its your brother... put down the decks dont ever use them again if its you.. tell your brother to leave the decks alone because he sucks dink and he will never get the hang of it. bahhh... what do i care.. I give it a couple of months... then you'll be putting an add on the buy and sell... "Used dj equipment" |

you should give him a swift kick in the nuts.. get him to realize that it will take a lot of hardwork it'll consume all his time.. and he shouldnt even be living in slurrey if he wants to do that.
He needs to go to broadcasting school... Being a dj and a radio dj are two different things.. One requires going to school for a long time... the other requires going to some dj school if you're too retarded to count beats, let go of a record, bring up/down the channel faders/cross fader. |
