How do i turn off the subscription to topics?

i don't understand the being subscribed to threads thing.

When you are subscribed to a thread you can emails sent to you telling you that there have been posts added, or even have the post that was added be included in the email as well.

Go to your user control panel and underneath the topic title there is the option to 'unsubscribe'.

i think i turned that option to be informed of every post made off.
