honda or mazda?

well i have two options for purchasing a car
either the 2003 Honda Civic Si
or the 2003 Mazda Protege5

i just want opinions on which one is better (unbiased is preferred, =P )
i've been reading up on autos, but all that car jargon means shit to me...lol
so some advice would be appreciated! and i'll give you good karma too :)

get the new mazda MP3 thats comming out its pretty sharp. and it comes with a pretty good stereo including MP3 player. and a turbo. good fun.

i got my honda civic brand new in 99, have had no problems at all with it to this date, just the usual oil changes, and had to replace the front breaks. it drives so smooth

I had the Protege 5 as a curtesy car for about a month..and it drives fucken wicked...but...Go for the honda....much nicer!

i think u should do lots of research on it the 2 cars. i have heard myself from people that honda's are a good car in that it lasts a long time, there's no problems etc. i havent heard much about mazda's so, if you want your car to last u awhile, go with that one that does. oh and try to research on the latest year models of both because a 90's mazda/honda probably has different parts than 2000's. u know what i mean.
