What's you dream car???
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted a Corvette. I grew up watching A.J. Simon(from Simon & Simon, I love that show) catch badguys in his '79 and ever since then I was hooked. My parents always tell me I'm crazy. "There's only two seats!!!" "You sit too low!!!" There's not enough space!!!" But for me it's perfect. NO car has the reputation or following of a 'Vette and it shows. Just look at all those old guys in those Corvette clubs. No one is more hardcore than a Corvette owner.
And upon gradution, or maybe even sooner due to the high demand for male nurses, I too will become a Corvette owner. The color? Red. The song blasting from the Delco/Bose system? Prince's Little Red Corvette, on reapeat, naturally. -Dwight:Somatic: Last edited by Somatic; Jun 07, 01 at 12:10 PM. |

Corvette's are cool, I like the old split rear window version from the 60's best. Corvette convertibles are the coolest IMO.
My dream car? The one I want in reality is a BMW M5 with Racing Dynamics conversion kit. I'll have 4 doors and can eat almost any car for lunch. OR! An old Caddy convertible with the big fins on the back. Those are COOL! Cost a freaking fortune to find one in good shapre though. |

MC Hammered, you got good taste in cars man. I love spit window Vettes as well as M5's and Caddies. Atta boy.
kiMMie, you're a nurse too? Ha ha, sweet!!! You can teach me the tricks of the trade. I need some way to get ahead come september. Porsche/Audi, eh??? Kay then, the race is on!!! My Cavalier will hopefully be paid off by the end of this summer and you didn't say anything about getting a fixer-upper. My first Vette will be a C4 of the TPI variety, but what condition??? It'll probably be a beater. An LS6 swap maybe??? But with my buddy going to BCIT to be a bodyman, that coat of PPG Torch Red isn't far away. Graduation will signal the coming of the that Torch Red ZR-1 that I had my eyes on at work. However, these things cost almost as much as they did when they were new!!! Talk about resale value!!! I guess I'll just have to "settle" for a new Z06. Heh heh. -Dwight:Somatic: |

Dwight,
Why don't you just sell your soul to the devil and get the Calloway Roadster conversion he made a few years back. THAT was one of the sweetest body redesigns I have ever seen. The windshield looks like it floats in the air. I just hope you can afford to buy the gas your baby needs once you get it! |

I love Callaway. But over the years his designs have gone away from enhancing Bowling Green's lines to trying to make a whole new car. It's like Steve Salleen refering to his cars as SXXX. They are nothing but gussied up Mustangs and should be refered to as such. Same goes with Callaway Vettes.
On the other hand, his engine development wing is nothing short of amazing. IMHO he has pioneered the addition of twin turbos in the Small Block Chevy. This was at a time when the carberateur was at its death bed and the OE's were just beginning to master the art of EFI. He did all that with a TPI and mated a Gear Vendors Turbo 400 to it due to the limp-wristedness of the Doug Nash 4+3. This was a 450 horse twin turbo monster with 3 overdrives!!! And no top!!! Can you imagine this thing on the highway??? You wouldn't want to crash it at 350km/h, that's for sure. Or flip it!!! Lingenfelter, on the other hand is the tuner that floats my boat. Yes, body enhancements are part of their program, but they believe in subtlty as opposed to Callaways ever increasingly flamboyant designs. Their twin turbo LS1 program has already begun to bear fruit as pump gas fueled 6-speed, stock suspension LS1's have dipped into the nines aided by Johnny's twins. This is all at 8 pounds of boost!!! A little race gas and a lot more boost should yeild some incredible ET's. Whoever said pushrods are out of date should get their heads checked. -Dwight:Somatic: P.S. MC Hammered, I already have the Callaway site on my favorites. Heh heh, it's the thought that counts, though. |

Dwight, vince i agree with you guys, the vette is way up at the top.But my dream car ever since john jackobson's demo came into the blue room(only dwight will catch onto this one) and i took it for a spin.....FUK i was in heaven. For all those who don't have a clue what i am talking about its a black camaro SS with the navigation(sorry had to say it)6 speed with t-tops, only thing i would change were the mags and i'd put the brand new SS chrome ones on there.:001:Once it was all cleaned up and i had to bring it into the showroom.....man that was awsome just reving it while waiting for the area to clear ya thats my dream car!!
