Question for you peeps that went to Spooky 7

Would you go to Simple 6 if the sound setup was like it was at Spooky?

I personally think Spooky would have been fucking crazy if the sound setup was better as it was my only complaint.

By the way...How come the sound was so shitty anyways? Like it wasn't that loud?

I didn't ask for mega-bassy speakers or ones with blown out drivers that bleed when you crank up the volume, but I do apprieciate a nice clean sound system that pumps out the tunes at a decent volume that blocks out ambient discussions people have.

The system at last years Spooky at the Colesium was nice. It was clean and loud, when the party was over your ears didn't ring.

That is what I was looking for.

no...honestly i think azim needs to either bitch at master plan till they start to do things right or find another company to provide sound and lighting (juice or rocky mountain sound, anyone?)

it was quite disapointing to have awesome sets ruined by technical fuck ups, this was the case in the theatre room, and i also heard that they had a major mishap in the main room near the beginning of the show. also power went down in the b.c room for a while.

i mean this is completely unacceptable for both the raver and the promoter. i mean ravers spend big money on these plaza parties because they think there getting the best in sound and lighting, as well as dj's. i mean ive been to low budget illegal parties with less technical fuck ups then spooky had. also azim and his crew shouldn't stand for this, the sound company is getting paid thousands of dollars to do there job and do it well, and then they fuck up and leave some poor 16 year old kid to be the tech.

if i was azim/salim i wouldve shat on masterplan already..also id be trying to figure out ways for the city to change it stance on the sound levels...its just utter bullshit that they have to keep the levels so low.

if people are paying 120 + at the door. AT LEAST have it be a technically perfect, or near perfect show!! you guys aren't throwing raves, you're running a business. so give your customers what they paid for!!! big sound, and no glitches that a little testing could have fixed!!

and i mean COME ON!! The NEEDLES were OLD so they SKIPPED?!!? the least you can do is have new or almost new needles for your headliners!

what would happen at simple 6 if it was Ferry Corsten spinning and the needles were skipping and trainwrecking every track?! honest to god...

I completely agree. I didn't even go to the party and I'm dissapointed by this. I almost went and, if I'd gone I would been really pissed of by this. Has masterplan heard of sound checks?

Masterplan has an exclusive contract with the Plaza Of Nations,,, which guarantees that they will be doing ALL of the Plaza parties. I don't know when thier contract is up,,, but again It's not that the stereo in the main room was shitty,,, it the fact that they weren't able to turn it up to it's capacity because of the damn city by-law.

And about the theater room...

I wasn't in there long enough to notice any sound problems with the moniters,,, but I saw at least 4 extra moniters back stage in the main room which makes me wonder why something wasn't done?

ANYWAYS... I was totally disapointed in the level of the sound when I first walked in,,, after Johan Gielen came on I didn't notice it as much. If I'm still here,,, I'll go to Simple.

im not too sure about that..my friends work at plaza and they told me about sound set ups by rocky mountain sound for misc events that blow away any set up for a plaza party...i think its just azim who regularly deals with them cuz masterplan also dose his shows at riverside. i remember this because they had they same 16 year old sound tech at uh-oh

theres another upcoming event at plaza that i know for sure isn't using masterplan for sound

i'll be going, i didnt notice the sound too much but i was in the breaks room most of the night; but even if the sound is the same quality as spooky ill go, i had fun at spooky and chances are ill have fun a simple.

actually new needles skip more often. they need to be worked into before they perform optimally.

my old needles NEVER skip. NEVER. but when i had em brand new they skipped like a motherfucker
