Nice Vancouver Hotels/Accomodations?

My godsister is going to Vancouver in late August
for a wedding. What are the names of some nice hotels
in the area that are close to the downtown grid-block?. I saw something down at Canada Place on a website. Is that a nice place? I want to be near downtown for shopping and eating.
Close to the beach of possible.
Any thoughts?

Thanks Mojojojo

Did u name yourself after that little candy they used to sell at corner stores?
Or is it from Austin Powers?

It has a cute jingle.

So in your opinion it would be the Hotel Vancouver or Four Seasons? Great. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully each of those hotels has a website I can quickly take a glance at. I'm not all that choosy but it does have to be near the downtown grid.
As for price, it shouldn't matter too much. Anything under $400US per night is ok. Maybe they have a weekely rate? I might be staying anywhere from 3-7 days.
Thanks Mo,

I stayed in a executive suite at Whistler at peak season and that only cost $250CAN or about $165US.

If you want to pay $300 - 400US (that's $450 - 500CAN) a night,
you can stay just about ANYWHERE in Vancouver, and the staff will shine your shoes, clean your underwear, feed you, bathe you and tuck you in at night AND you still have money left over for a tip!

If your god-sister likes to take baths and likes chocolate, the Sutton Place Hotel is the only way to go. They have these massive cast iron bathtubs and a chocolate buffet!
