Fashion
I've been making,modeling and learning about the fashion industry for the last 6 years. It's somewhat of an addiction. I find myself staying up into the wee hours of the morning coming up with all sorts of imaginative ideas and new designs. Most of my friends think I'm a lunatic. Many of my pieces have gone on display and I have sold quite a few designs over the last 3 years.It finally picked up. My goal is to launch my own line in fall of 2005. Is there anyone on this site that is a designer or involved in the industry?What are the courses like up in Canada?

Ooh...I've been "interested" in this industry for a while myself...but unfortunately I haven't chosen it as a career...I'm a newly graduated nurse...
But we, F&K, are coming out with a new line of clothing very shortly...and I've worked with manufacturers and designers in the past five years as a hobby... Schooling wise...? Um...honestly, I'd stick to the States. I'm not too too sure about the East Coast, but besides California, I have heard too too many people "rave" about Vancouver designers lately... Overseas would be another pick...Europe, China, Japan, Italy... Hope that helped a tiny bit :Kimmie:

Why are we so friendly? It's something to do with the water we have here and taxes...
As for the clothing line, I'm working on the logo as we speak. We are so close I can almost smell the ink on the cloth.

oh i used to design clothing and i had some dope designs to , but that was so long ago .I had never really had the time and my 'rents are always telling me that i should worry about school instead. Oh well but now that i think about it i think that this summer i will try to start up again.

i really think..
that it would be cool to become a fashion designer...it's something that i've wnated to do for such a few years now...i've made a bunch of really nice things...like my formal dress this year and i make jackets and skirts and..welll you name it..
i'm going to be makeing my grad dress and formal dress for next year as well...i think it's a good idea because it's cheaper and you know that you'll have a unique dress, your ideas/fabric/pattern..i always buy a pattern and then totally remake it to how i want it. my life long dream is to own my own clothing store and have my own designs in it...but ahhh it's only a fantasy, i shall never make it!! :027: Aimee...i'm interested in what your designs look like!

heh heh
i truly think that i could come up with some pretty sweet clothing designs...it would be awesome to have your own clothing line 'n all, getting free clothing and shit...but yah, i WAS interested until i found out about how hard it is to get started with money budgets and so on...blah blah blah...i want to get started,...anyone with tips or so...give me an UH OH @ 73316514... jon wong is tha name..

Ya I like designing clothes as well! More of a hobby for me.. I've made a few minor projects, but I have tonz of cool ideas that I'd make.. if only I had the time! But that's awesome that your chosing it as a career~ All the best of luck!
