Should they sensor 9-11 WTC references?
K, i got my hands on an advance of Jay's New Cd Blueprint 2 -The Gift And The Curse. The first track on Cd 1 is A Dream featuring Faith Evans and the late Notorious Big.
After listeing to this track, I quickly knew that the lyrics are recycled. I'm not gonna say which track, but i'm sure for all you true hip-hop fans, you should know it right away. Anyways, seems the producers have sensored a line from the original lyrics. Here is the verse from "A Dream"? The bold part has been removed. It was all a dream I used to read Word Up magazine Salt'n'Pepa and Heavy D up in the limousine Hangin' pictures on my wall Every Saturday Rap Attack, Mr. Magic, Marley Marl I let my tape rock 'til my tape popped Smokin' weed and bamboo, sippin' on private stock Way back, when I had the red and black lumberjack With the hat to match Remember Rappin' Duke, duh-ha, duh-ha You never thought that hip hop would take it this far Now I'm in the limelight 'cause I rhyme tight Time to get paid, blow up like the World Trade Born sinner, the opposite of a winner Remember when I used to eat sardines for dinner Peace to Ron G, Brucey B, Kid Capri Funkmaster Flex, Lovebug Starsky I'm blowin' up like you thought I would Call the crib, same number same hood It's all good.... My question is, do you think they should have removed the lyrics? I mean the WTC 9-11 events are tragic, but will removing lyrics really make a difference. If people really want to make a difference they should seriosuly consider stopping there government from bombing other countries. Today, it seems that the UN has decided to seek measures in Iraq. This is something that the American's have been pushing for since 9-11. I suppose its a good thing that it was settled in the UN and not by the Americans by themselves. ~Tim Last edited by dj4mula; Nov 08, 02 at 08:48 PM. |

Blow up like the world trade was reffering to the first time a bomb blast happened
and no you can't ignore the fact that it happened, nor should people be cencored....although people say some fucked up shit that is horrible they should have a right to say whats on there mind |

as a result of all those deaths, its definetly understandable that the American public is very sensitive over this issue but removing lyrics from a song that was originally written and released back in what 93 or 94 doesn't make sense and it fully goes against this "freedom of speech" deal, if the American's have that at all anyways.
