Calling All Travellers!!
Where have you been?
i love travellin...my first trip was to hawaii (my life long dream), then i hit up thailand(the most amazing place on earth!), and just 6 months ago got back from backpacking adventure in central america (costa rica, panama, nicaragua) i cant get enough! as soon as i get back from one adventure i start planning the next...my next trip will be in feb. either an australian, phillipines and japan tour or maybe an all inclusive trip to mexico since ive never been there and backpacking gets tiring after a while plus it would be nice to just sit back and relax in a resort while being passed a couple margaritas before ya hit the surf!! wherever i go there has to be a beach though, i love the ocean and cant get enough of surfin...the biggest rush on earth!! i love talking to fellow travellers about their adventures... so drop a line in here and let me know where you've been to! pce. |

i've been to lots of places in my youth with my parents, all of the manufactured holday for the masses type places. i went to nyc for three months by myself, but thats the only time i've ever gotten to go on a trip by myself.
i really want to get into traveling tho. my plan is to work and travel and thats it haha. By traveling tho i mean i want to rough it, backpack, hostile, whutever... i want to go to thailand, china, vietnam, japan. (maybe teach english?) i want to live in australia for at least 3 months. i want around travel south america... i am eligible for a british passport so i am going to get that and do the Eurorail tour thing, hope to see 17 countrys that way, ie switzerland, ausrtia, amsterdam, spain, italy, germany I also want to work over there for a bit, either in scotland or Ireland. i want to experiance cultures instead of going to ritzi hotel's and vacation spots as i did when i was younger....i want to see tha world for whut it is....good and bad well those are my plans |

I've been to many places before with my rents, who've been great enough to offer to take my sis and I with them. My sis and I don't really go with them any more, because we have our own schedules we want to follow and as spoiled as it sounds, we'd rather just hang out with our friends sometimes...
My parents tend to go all out on their vacations, like get the vacation packages, all-inclusive resorts and shit, and those are great and all, but i never feel like I really get as much as I *can* out of travelling there. I'd rather stay at some crummy hostel, and attempt to blend in with the locals, eat local food get food poisoning and have the full dirty experience of the country itself. For some people, the ideal vacation is what my parents do, luxurious vacationing. But I'd like to try something new... might sound gay, but I wanna save up for a small trip next summer, to the eastcoast. (first I need a job. lol) I'd like to see all of Canada, I've seen most of it but I'm missing out on a few provinces. I'd like to travel with some company and not know where I'm going to end up... travelling backpack style is definately way to go! experience the country first hand...u dont wanna be a "tourist" hehe...besides cockroaches can be friendly =)
the list of places to go is endless as well... im always revising my list!!...priorities and dreams come first of course... travelling without family is the only way to go, its all about the adventure of finding your way around and meeting new people...sometimes u actually see someone u know from home, half way around the world, which is fuckin qwesome! ive actually changed my plans again for this feb...Cuba is the destination i wanna go, they actually have a unique culture without much americanization...and i herd our money goes far there! damn i cant wait!...no surf though, blah!... oh well :smoke1: |

I had never been farther east then sask, and no farther south then seattle up until last year when i went all over australia and bali, and taiwan.
I agree with the ppl here, resort holidays, although relaxing, suck. Im young, i dont need relaxation, i need adventure. I recomend while backpacking to split up with your friends (if you go/meet some.) It gives you lots of time to yourself to think (especially being in a different country, being around non-english speakers. Im going to become a chef within the next few years so i can work my way across the globe for the next decade or so. There's not much Vancouver can offer me these days. |

I've been to Canada (Quebec city, Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, Banf (sp), and all over BC), the U.S. (Alaska, Hawaii (4 or 5 of the islands), Arizona, California, Washington state, Florida, and Orgeon), Mexico (Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, and Mazatland), the Netherlands (Amsterdam), and France (Paris and Reims.)
This february I'm going to Cuba (Veradero and Havana) and this may to august I'm going around Mediterranean Europe (Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, and Greece for sure, and maybe venture up into Germany, the Czech Republic, and Hungary or into Turkey. Next february I'm going to a Mexican town that is unpronounceable because my parents spent their youth there, and then next spring and summer I'll be doing a 6-week volunteer program in either Costa Rica, or Guyana. After I get my B.A. in 2005, I'm planning on celebrating my freedom and my admittance to law school (*knock on wood*) with a backpacking trip in South-East Asia. |
