Your license

This question is to anyone who owns a bike, street or touring

do you have to get your car license first or is it two different things?

i'd like to get myself a bike for summer and i'd like to know how i go about getting my bike license

I'm pretty sure it works like this:

You don't have to have a regular drivers license first. You just have to go and pass the learners exam to get the first part of your license.

You then have to have someone with a full bike license in your view at all times while you're riding for a certain period of time. I'm not sure about the exact amount of time, but it is a lot shorter if you take a certified course, but the courses are really expensive. After you take the course or reach the time limit you have to take a roadtest to get your full license.

mister-peenutt has a little shameless behaviour in the past
you can apply to get your bike licence before you get your drivers licence.

but i think you have to go through a little more tests or probationairy things.. i can't remember.

check out the icbc driver training website.. or something to that effect it has a section explaining bike licences and shit.

you can get it whenever you want
HOWEVER you have to go through the learning and new stages like with a car and you have to display your sign

so tha tmeans in the L stage you have to be in sight of somebody that already has their bike liscence

i'd buy a bike but it sounds like such a fuckin hassel

I don't think you allowed to have your class 8 (motorcycle learners) and class 7 at the same time. I think that you have to either not have L or N, or have your class 5. I'm not sure about that, so you might want to look into it.

Car's are so boring.. too big, hard to manuver

bikes... small, light, fast.

My friend gave me a ride on his ninja.. we made it to vancouver in a matter of minutes. (from surrey)

I asked my friend yesturday.. you do a test, then ride around in a pack 2 instructors and 5-8 riders.

they'll supply me a bike for the tests but it will cost more.

oooo i cant wait!

dj4mula is on a distinguished road
If you take lessons, which costs about $300, you get a small discount on your insurance when you purchase a bike. The $300 is also reinburshed.
