holiday traditions?

do you and your family have any holiday traditions?

now that my mom moved out we dont do anything for christmas, lol.she was so anal about when we opened presents and decorations and shit. now we open presents on christmas eve, we buy a tree like the day before christmas, and on christmas eve me my dad, brother and sister play a nice ole family game of kings cup, its so much better now that she's gone, lol

on christmas eve i'd go to mass with my folks...then i'd rock it up to the wee hours of the morning at my good friends place...and then (hung over) we head out to my aunts place for brekkie and the inevitable exchanging of the gifts (on my mothers side)...then we'll rest up in the afternoon, watch a movie or something...then at dinner time we head to my fathers parents place and rip open some more gifts, and gorge ourselves on turkey. after that i tend to pass out.

Christmas morning we all wake up to look in our stockings, have breakfast, open our gifts and then prepare for dinner that night
usually my entire family comes over for a big christmas dinner that my mom and i make. sometimes on Christmas eve or Christmas day.
then after dinner we open more gifts from the rest of the family
always the same every year....!!!

Christmas Eve day, we go out and do all sorts of last minute things like stocking up on food stuffs, enjoying the hustle and bustle of Christmas Eve activities. Evening often involves taking in the candlelight service at the church. Then we have a sort of buffet dinner of assorted goodies, punch, chilli, hors d'ouvres, chocolates, cookies etc...then we open gifts. Christmas Day, sleep in, lounge around, have big turkey dinner around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Boxing day, big old family gathering of my mom's side of the family.

This year will be different. I am spending Christmas in Victoria with my hunny bunches! So, I have no idea how they do things there. I do know that there will be hot tubbing, good eats, and snuggles and cuddles gallore :)

My family and I do Christmas on Christmas Eve. And we don't eat turkey and shite like a lot of weird north americans, we have a big Scandinavian dinner. MMmmmm.........I can't wait.
