Can't complain about money. Gift certifercates are ok if they're somewhere you know the person will go. A couple friends gave the crookedking and I certifercates for Coles. That was sweet.

gift certificates are dOpe, you actually get what YOU want and not something that will be thrown to tha back of your closet. I'd much rather give people a certificate to A&B sound or chapters or the movies or sumting, cuz then they will enjoy it more.

A friend of mine in T dot got an brand new Acura last christmas/birthday, in tha back seat was a bunch of presents and in the glove box a shit load of gift certificates.....damn rich kids, their all like that there too, my cousins buddys....their town is called RICHmond Hill haha~basterds

it really depends on what kind of gift certificate you get...
and the amount. if its somewhere you know they love to shop, and theres enough there to actually buy something, then its cool.

if its like 20bucks at a place they might not like to shop at...or even somewhere they do like to shop at...it sucks.

it might not be the most personal thing, but if youdont know them well enough to get them the perfect gift then gift certificates and money ensure that the person will get what they want.
which rules,. so i think they are a good thing.
I'd be kind of insulted if i had a really good friend and spent alot of time thinking about their gift, then got one of those.. but still.. i'd end up getting what i wanted right? :p

money=gooooood. but if you're close to the person, u should pick something out for them. the whole point of giving a GC/Cash is cuz you don't know what to buy for someone.

I get pretty offended if someone I know quite well gives me money or a gift certificate, when I know they can so find the perfect thoughful gift..

but there are people who will always give me cash or gift certificates like my step dad, parent's friends, managers at work..and I'm fine with that because they don't know me as well

although, there ARE people like my brother who I would get a gift cert for if I was getting him DVDs or Clothes because he is super picky and has everything, so it is pretty safe!

i think as long as you get gift certificates for a store you like

like for instance, if I was going to buy Sam a gift certifcate it'd be for a porn store (maybe a flesh coloured dildo)
